Bob Sapp interview with Pro MMA Radio: (audio) [at the 38 min mark]
"The Beast" said he is on target to come into this bout at the lowest weight of his fighting career, possibly weighing as little as 320 lbs (compared to 365-400 lbs) with the help of trainers Maurice Smith, Antonio McKee, Josh Barnett and Ivan Salaverry.
"I think I feel better," Sapp said. "What’s going to be interesting is to see if I still have some of that power."

Note to Sapp: No matter what you do, you will have a huge power and strength advantage cause on average, you weigh 100 lbs more than your opponent.. you should be worrying about your cardio, not power..

hhhhm, I wonder what impact a 50lb drop in weight does for the cardio of a still 320lb monster. Probably not a lot.

I’ve never heard a real Sapp interview. He sounds like a normal guy. It’s hard for me to make the connection between his voice and his fighting persona.

Sounds like Bob is taking this bout seriously
Even for what he lacks in technique he still packs alot of power. We’re going to see Bobby’s chin tested.
And interesting note is that Daniel Puder told Sherdog Radio in an interview that he believes Bobby has a glass chin.
Food goes in here

I’ve never bet on sports and I’m not about to start, but it’s pretty tempting to put $100 on Sapp at +400. I hear comments about how Sapp may be willing to throw the fight, but it’s hard to imagine he’s going to put in the effort to lose that much weight and work his conditioning just to fake it.

A sort of Sapp fan
Bob’s gonna lose again, nonetheless.
In his fight against Akihito Tanaka, the smaller and similarly unexperienced Tanaka held Sapp down and hammerfisted him for a couple years. If Bobby Lashley gets Sapp in a similar position, there’s no way for Sapp to win. This is before we start calculating in Lashleys’ overhand. Sapps’ striking is probably just as crappy as Lashleys’, it’s just been around longer.
