UFC 100 Preview: Brock Lesnar
"This is all about revenge for me..."UFC 100 coverage
"I was inexperienced, I rushed to fight. Mir seized an opportunity… Just because he caught me in a knee bar doesn't mean he's going to get me in another submission. I gave Mir that knee bar and he knows that."
"Prior to that, was I in any vulnerable positions? No, he was."

true
but he doesn’t appear to just rush in like a fool, his last two fights he’s shown enough learn experience to not just bull rush and make the mistake. I can’t wait.
The biggest mistake
of this fight was Steve as a ref, I’ve never seen anyone stand a fight as fast as he did that night, especially after one hit, Mir should be happy that Herb wasn’t the ref for this fight, he would have woken up a couple of minutes after the fact asking what the hell had happened.
Saying you “gave” someone a submission is pretty weak. I really hope he "gives’ Frank another…In all honestly, I think Frank will outstrike Lesnar at 100 for the win. Just my opinion though.
By the way, I hear a lot of Mir hate around here, and I’ve never been able to get a grasp on why…
Can someone fill me in on why everyone thinks he’s such a dick? Links or quotes maybe?

But see, that’s what I mean…I’ve never gotten that impression from him. Any quotes or links to illustrate?

“I think the stand-up is my advantage and the ground is my advantage. I can’t wait.”
Taken directly off of a Mir quote from a story posted earlier today on BE, sorry didn’t get the link because I copied the quote, but the title was UFC 100 preview Mir or something like that. Lets face it Mir has experience, but if he didn’t learn that his stand up isn’t anywhere near as good as Brocks from his first fight, we are going to see Mir looking at lights before the second rd. Brock lands one, and thats all it will take, and it’s over.
His :)
Sorry proflex, I don’t get it… That quote makes Mir a dick, or smug, or…?
Sorry buddy, but I really don’t understand what you meant. Could you elaborate please? :)

See heres the problem
I can put out any quote that I see as Mir being a dick/smug/cocky whatever, and you might not see it the same way I do, the reason I posted the quote that I did was simply this, Mir must have received some brain damage, because in his first fight with Lesnar he was losing the striking game BADLY, think what you want, but he was seconds from going to sleep, now he comes back and says he’s better at it, that makes him a dick in my books because it’s one thing to talk, it’s something else to prove it, something Mir hasn’t done against Lesnar.
Most “dick” comments are pretty obvious though….I’m not trying to argue, I mean he very well could be a dick. But from what I’ve seen, he seems like a smart, reasonably nice guy. I was just wondering if there was any overwhelming evidence that he’s a dick.
I feel the same way about Frank Shamrock, the guy seems cool to me, but so many people have so many bad things to say about him. I just wish I knew why they get such bad raps.
Also, I think what Mir meant, was that his technical striking is better than Brock’s, and based on the Nog fight, I would agree with him. Brock is not anywhere near a great striker, he just hits hard as hell. Even a grazing shot from Brock has the potential to knock a guy on his ass. Now, is Mir’s striking defense good enough? We’re going to see pretty soon.
I do respect your opinion Pro, and if you have any more evidence of Mir’s dickery, I’d love to hear it. After all, I don’t want to be respectful of the guy if he doesn’t deserve respect.

I see
what your saying, I just don’t have the overwhelming proof that you are looking for at the moment, I’m working off stuff I’ve seen a long time ago, and I don’t remember specifics. However you do bring up a great point as to technical striking. As for Frank, I agree with you he seemsv pretty cool
