Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Snapshot of the Day: Michael Bisping

"Bisping looks aggressive and doesn't seem to have any worries. He is very confident and says he is fearless of Dan Henderson."

"Bisping says its the best training camp he has ever had and feels that all is well. He feels he is peaking at the right time."

bisping is a very good fighter but

i hope he gets rocked by henderson! henderson is more experienced and if he can beat franklin, i am confident he will handle bisping…cant wait for this fight and the rest of the 100 card! not fighter bashing, would just love to see bisping get beaten by the experience of dan henderson

That looks like a pretty good landing spot for Dan’s right hand.

Lets see if Bisping can do what Rashad did against Chuck.

I think Bisping can stay fast and win a decision, but Hendo is impossible to KO.

So was Randy prior to Chuck flipping his switch
So was Chuck prior to Rampage flipping his switch
So was Mark Hunt prior to Melvin Manhoef flipping his switch

FIghters age, and chins are not like fine wine, they do not get better with age. Someone is eventually going to brutally KO Hendo. Will it be now? Will it be Bisping? I hope not. But never say never. It will happen eventually.

and Big Nog. Man’s impossible to KO.

Chuck, Rampage, and Melvin all have big time power. Bisping doesn’t.

Neither does Frank Mir, which is why he can never knock out Nog.

and actually

when I looked at the UFC site, I noticed that 5 of Bispings 8 UFC fights ended with him winning via TKO.

But no KTFOBBQs. I’m talking about 1 punch = forget Gr 4 power. Nog wasn’t out clean either, and he was hurting from something before he even stepped into the octagon for his fight.

He doesn’t have to KTFOWTFBBQ Henderson to win. TKO works just as well.

Does Bisping really have the skills?

I’m really curious to hear what you guys think. I’m indecisive on which way to go on this.

Yes. He is very well rounded. Solid wrestling, TD defense, BJJ defense, and very solid striking. If he can stay off his back enough he could surely win this one

Bisping’s last fight was with Chris Leben, and I wasn’t impressed. Hendo is 10x the fighter that Leben could ever imagine to be. Comparatively, that’s why I think Hendo is going to take this one.

thoughts?

No reason to write “thoughts” in a blog, as sharing your thoughts is what a blog is all about. Pet peeve.

Leban is inconsistent so its hard to judge with him. Sometimes he comes in flat, sometimes he is a world beater, but in general he is a tough fight for anyone except A. Silva. Bisping did fare well in the deep LHW division though and destroys mid level MWs. I think Hendo will will, but I would bet on Bisping if I could get better than +200

*will win

If Bisping uses the same gameplan that Mizaki used against Hendo in their last fight, he can win the decision Dan can get caught up being one dimensional and if Bisping is smart he’ll use that against him.

I hate Bisping, but at these current lines you have to bet on him. This is more like a -150, +120 type of fight

Best training camp ever.

They need to stop saying that.

Bisping is probably going to have an advantage on the feet. My observation would be that his standup is crisper and more technical than Henderson’s. Although he has to be wary of the fact that Henderson has a powerful right hand.

I think who wins the fight comes down to whether Bisping can keep this mostly a kickboxing match or whether Henderson can take it to the ground. On the feet Henderson of late has looked a lot like Chuck..looking for that one end all punch. It hasn’t really worked out for either of them.

If Henderson wins it will be via ground and pound leading to a decision or stoppage.

Bisping’s strength and quickness has looked pretty solid so far at middleweight. I’ll be interested to see if that allows him to be “elusive” and fend off the shot.

psssh. unless Hendo pulls a Nog and gets old in the space of one fight, he will crush Bisping. Bisping hasn’t faced a single top level fighter, nevermind a guy who’s fought the record that Hendo has…

Rashad Evans?

bisping hasn’t been aggreissive against any mildly dangerous opponent, look at his run jobs against Hammill and Leben for evidence of that…and i’m willing to bet that Hendo has a meaner right hand than both of them, leben’s close, but Hendo slayed Vanderlei and others when Vanderlei was at his peak and had only lost to CroCop and a few others.
