ALBANY: Two weeks ago, a state Assembly committee passed a bill to legalize MMA fight events, and the full house is expected to follow. That leaves the Senate, staggered by its recent power shift, to take up the bill, which is said to have bipartisan support.
From an article published by the Post Standard out of Syracuse NY: Ultimate fighting slugs it out in Albany to go legal in N.Y.

Thanks. I happen to live in the areas that elected Assemblyman Douche Bag aka Bob Reilly, so I am especially interested in how this plays out even besides being an MMA fan.

From the article:
“It’s the Roman Coliseum on high-def TV,” wrote Richard E. Barnes, executive director of the New York State Catholic Conference, in a letter sent last week to state lawmakers. “I urge the members of both Houses to view a ‘bout’ on cable TV or the Internet, because I do not believe this human dog-fighting can survive the light of day. It cannot be worth whatever dollar value its promoters are pitching us.”
Because we all know any associate of the Catholic Church has nothing but goodwill as their motive.
A very good article, though. The journalist didn’t really choose a side and he tries to explain a lot of misunderstood points of view such as those pertaining to ground fighting, the concept of “human dog-fighting,” etc.
