OLDSPICE
are we randomly just shouting out sponsors names now?
i hope so just for the comic relief of it
WAR OLDSPICE
How funny will that commercial be if Kimbo loses his first fight? “Come watch Kimbo mope around the house for 5 weeks with nothing to do”
Well the fight already happened, so they already know. The result doesn’t matter during the hype for the show. This is a win-win for the UFC
if kimbo doesn't win the show...
… he could have a future as the next “snap into a slim jim” spokesman.

I was excited for this season just knowing that Rashad and Rampage were coaching. Kimbo is a plus, but an all heavyweight season should make for some good fights. There are tons of 155-185 fighters out there, but the Heavyweight pool is pretty shallow and there seems to be a good amount of experienced fighters on this season. Should be good fights no matter what happens with Kimbo.
Actually, I’m expecting a bunch of dogshit fights, just like we saw on TUF 2. Heavyweights in general are generally boring, and inexperienced heavyweights are usually terrible.
That said, I love the mix of guys they have brought in and the drama of seeing Big Country demolish a bunch of ripped NFL guys, Kimbo getting KO’d by another nobody, and Wes Simms finding new and exciting ways to break the rules should make for excellent viewing.
If there’s a difference, it’s that the HWs they’ve brought in this year include some incredible athletes who move much faster than a man their size might otherwise, and some incredibly experienced guys like Nelson (who just feels like a ringer at this point), so hopefully it won’t be TOTAL dogshit.

If you name your kid Wes, will they be huge? Does this disprove DNA and the theory of natural selection? Is it all about the name?
My best friend is a Wes, and he’s about 6’3" or 6’4". He also weighs about 150lbs, so while he’s tall, huge is a stretch.

Well, tall is a start. I am now called Wes. I hope to put on 6 inches by late fall.

What I want is for the show to start already. Sucks having to wait this long.

don’t they broadcast the fights in a different order than they actually happen? i seem to remember former cast members mentioning that in interviews and blogs
They don’t do that. They keep score and all that. How could they do this and still say so and so team is winning.

yeah, you're totally right.
now that i think about it, those comments were probably made in reference to the fights in the “win to get in” round. good point.
No, there isn’t a “win to get in” round. They changed that this year.

Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who
yeah, i know...
… i was referring to my earlier comment about the fights being broadcast out of order.
Sleek
Good looking commercial…good production. I’m excited for the upcoming season, even if it might look like a big PR move.
Agreed
When I saw this on Spike HD I was like damn, that looks awesome!

heyyy
i didnt know spike broadcasted in HD. Do they send out UFC ppvs in HD?
from the forest itself comes the handle for the axe
Yup.
I think only DirecTV carries Spike HD right now. It’s the reason I went with them over Dish. It’s cool because even when they show the old fights they’re upscaled and look better. TUF, TUF Finales, Saturday Night Fights and PPV replays all in HD goodness!
