I like their flier strategy. Set the bar impossibly low with the first attempt so the second flier looks like a work of fine art.

Seriously. They upgraded from an average high school graphic design student to an average community college design student.

This show could hurt Affliction for 3 reasons:

1. Winner of Rizzo/Yvel is unable to fight Buentello due to a cut or injury.
2. If Chris Horodecki can’t fight on their card.
3. If Tom Atencio loses enough brain cells that he puts his company in further debt with these cards that don’t make money.

And Brett Cooper could be injured.

I liked their TV spot where the announcer pronounced “Rizzo” with a hard R.

Names

They pulled some decent names in for the card. I think I still would have preferred seeing Lashley on the upcoming season of TUF.

Lashley is a recognizable enough name that he can get into the UFC as soon as he has the skills and track record to merit it. He doesn’t need a lucky break. And if he doesn’t have the skills and track record, he shouldn’t be fighting in the UFC anyway. He’s still fairly new to the sport and fighting on small shows against increasingly harder opponents while evolving his skill set is the best path he can take imo. He’ll also probably get a better contract if he comes into the UFC having established more credibility.

makes me sad

that Din Thomas is on this card. I really think he could clean up in the WEC.

I don’t know about your assessment of Din’s chances in the WEC, but I think he should be there.

This preview is so cheap the actually won money with it. My predictions? Sapp vs lashey will end up in Bob Sapp famous highlights video. Great youtube fun ahead.
