“Nogueira is way tougher than me, his pain tolerance, his ability to weather storms is incredible, it’s legendary, and he couldn’t last 2 rounds with me”
Mir comes off as such a cocky prick. He beats a half-crippled Nog and he starts thinking he’s God.
Killer card though. Can’t wait to see GSP vs. Alves.

I'm sure Nog has never entered any other fight injured or sick in his life...
EVER….
Mir smashed Nog, to bits… period. No excuse, or reason will ever change what happened…. and I like Nog…. it just seems like people need to get over the “excuses” for Mir’s success… Maz stood Brock up…. then Brock gains the same exact position he was in and gets subbed… I also find it funny that with all the talk of how hard Brock hits, people act as if hits to the back of the head from him should receive multiple warnings
Mir has had no favors in his career, and yet any time he performs well people try to brush it off as if he had nothing to do with it… Give it a rest…

I never said he didn’t smash Nog, he did. Nog had nothing for him. That said, a staph infection is a serious thing, enough to put you in a hospital. To chalk it up as just another typical fighter injury is ignorant.
Mir, who has shown sub-par stand up his entire fight career, ends up smashing Nog on the feet. What should I believe, that Mir’s suddenly become a boxing prodigy, or that Mir only looked that good because Nog was in crap condition? I think I’ll go with the latter. He beat Nog. He beat him soundly in fact, but he’s buying way too much into himself if he thinks he’s suddenly become some kind of MMA god.
As for the Mazzagatti thing, I think it came off poorly because in the broadcast, his warning to Lesnar wasn’t audible. It looked like he stood them up without a warning. Every ref in every fight I’ve seen will give at least one warning before that sort of stand up, but you couldn’t hear any warning in the broadcast. Post-fight, it came to light that he did give a warning. It didn’t seem that way at the time though, which blew it out of proportion.

Thing is...
While Mir was no world beater on the feet, he wasn’t horrible either… his problems were more injury/conditioning related… His striking was sloppier, but was never as bad as people made out to be either.

I didn’t say he was horrible. He’s a decent fighter. What I did say though is that he’s coming off as a cocky prick who’s buying way too much into his last performance against a fighter who had some serious issues.

I was one of the few people pulling for Mir in that bout.

Wasn’t the reason he failed to make weight against Hughes some sort of injury?

It was an ankle injury
I have all respect in the world for Alves, but come on man. If you can handle KTFO Hughes with that ankle, you can make weight.

Thanks Nick. Who are you picking in the main event, Mir v. Lesnar and GSP v. Alves?

I can't wait to see the final betting lines....
Because it will give a good idea of who the favorites are and by how much. Also, I am curious to read predictions from betting analysts on these fights.
I hope the Jon Jones fight gets shown, but I doubt they’ll have the time. Alves/GSP should be interesting especially during the parts of the fight where they’re doing standup. There’s always the real possibility of someone getting dropped.

Cannot wait for this event hopefully it will take the bad taste out of my mouth after the TUF Finale plus I wonder what other excuse people will use to discredit Mir when he wins. More than ever i’ll be rooting for Mir just to see the pathetic haters keep reaching for excuse after excuse to justify why a guy who was supposed to destroy him got his ass beat or tapped it’s great comedy.
