Diaz Vs Stevenson....really?
they had some cool scrambles but Stevenson just held on the whole time. I thought Wilks vs Johnson was a lot more exicting
I’ve seen so many of these so called “fight of the nights” like the Lytle/Burns fight that they just don’t do much for me anymore, both guys stood toe to toe and slugged it out…..yet again. Yippy, I haven’t seen that before. It was a good fight but it wasn’t squat compared to the Diego vs Guida war on that card. Fight of the night should knock my socks off not just be another fight where both guys stayed active for three rounds.
You must feel the same way about Gurgel fights...
Which is fine. It really is what it is in that what equates as exciting is an action-packed fight. Stand-up fights that are constant action tend to excite the fans more which is understandable. While Lytle/Burns did not “knock your socks off,” these are the types of fights that “knock the socks off” of many other fans especially those that haven’t watched MMA as long as you have.

Gurgel fights are extremely disappointing
Hazelett is one of the best ground fighters in MMA.. And gurgel is the one who gave him his blackbelt… Just imagine how good that guy is on the ground, yet he chooses to never use those skills..

Yep Gurgel’s fights disappoint me because he doesn’t work to his strengths. The object of the fight should be to win the fight, entertaining the fans should be secondary and standing and banging just for the sake of standing and banging when you have that kind of ground game just doesn’t make a lot of sense careerwise. Jorge Gurgel sloppy kickboxed himself right out of the UFC.
It is
like getting your Dr. in Physics and going off and digging ditches for a living cause “blue collar” workers built America.
Great analogy
But unfortunately Gurgle has the type of fight’s that are usually rewarded in the UFC. Sloppy kickboxing seems to appeal to new fans much more than a slow and methodical ground game. Why else would Dos Anos/Griffin beat Condit/Kampman for fight of the night last month?
I’m okay with them giving every fighter a bonus, more money for everyone I say.
But if it was ME giving out FOTN I’d say the main event was the only worthy.
Either way, who the hell complains about watching free fights anyway?
I’m not complaining about free fights I am just pointing out that I’ve already seen the Lytle show before. Do you think he should move up in the division rankings for that performance?
Well he won right?
Why would he stay stationary or drop down the UFC ladder?

Ah, cmon guys
Of course Sanchez/Guida was the best fight last night (fight of the year??) but Lytle/Burns was definately FOTN worthy on atleast 90% of other UFC cards. Buth guys were hurt pretty bad at one point and they kept coming.
Props to Burns by the way, I didnt really think he had much of a chance coming in, but the guy is an animal. I hope they keep him around for awhile!
Torres vs Mizugaki
is a fight to see if you missed it.
