Bouts Announced for Three August Shooto Cards

Shooto_logo_medium

Shooto released details for their August cards on their website today. There are a lot of Rookie Tournament bouts and fighters from local gyms, but one major scrap will be #2 flyweight "Shinpei" Tahara taking on #8 bantamweight Jesse Taitano in a catchweight bout on August 9th. Last time Taitano was in the ring, he drew with bantamweight champ "BJ" Kojima. Tahara is coming off of a June win, but has gone 1-1-1 in his last three.

Another bout of interest is on August 16th, with 2006 rookie champion "Leo" Konishi making his return to Shooto after three years.

Dear Chris,

Which of these fights should I care enough about to seek video of?

The two I mentioned at the top of the post are the ones that really caught my eye. Most of the fights on the Saitama card should be fun, if not particularly important in the grand scheme of things. But the crummy thing is that video of most of these fights won’t surface until months after the fact, if ever. This card on July 19th has some big fights, so hopefully that’ll air fairly soon after it happens. I’ll make sure to post up anything I come across.
