Jesus, jump the gun much? Do you realize all sorts of stuff gets scrapped, especially early stuff?
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
Nah...
EA Sports has always worked with Randy, Frank Shamrock, Fedor, WAMMA, etc for their MMA game, and that was about a year ago. No way in hell that got scrapped now, if it did, it was a LOOONG time ago, in which case the WEC wasn’t even that popular.
If its been announced at E3 then theres a really god chance they will come out with the game.

Lots of things get announced at E3 and never actually materialize. I don’t have any reason to think this won’t come out, but it’s not like E3 is a vaporware-free zone. I expect this game to be finished and released (assuming EA doesn’t acquire THQ in the next year), but I don’t believe there was any game footage, much less a playable demo.

WEC isn’t even Strikeforce popular. I don’t think most people on this forum can name 3 WEC fighters.
1. Faber
2. The guy who beat Faber
3. uh. . . Miguel Pulver
Honestly, the cast of misfits fighting under War Gods would make more interesting game play than anything the WEC has to offer.

I call bullshit on this. And if you seriously cannot name more than 3 WEC fighters…

Really though, this is what’s more telling for the WEC:

Unless, UFC Undisputed can incorporate the WEC as another promotion in the game, it will be tough for the WEC, just like if Strikeforce or any promotion based game will struggle outside of the UFC.
The difference is that EA will have the best fighter in the planet, Randy, Frank, Carano, etc, along with fighters from different promotions, that way, they are not tied to just one.
We will see what happens.
I honestly feel bad for any MMA fan that doesn’t know more than 3 WEC fighters because that means they have been missing some of the best fights of the last couple years.

Personally I think the WEC has the best fights in the entire sport, even their bad cards are damn entertaining. The smaller guys know how to entertain and no discussion of pound for pound best in the sport should be had without including Miguel Torres.

Haha, exactly.
Personally, I really like the WEC. They have some entertaining fights, even if the LW+ divisions don’t have any top 5 fighters in their division.
WW had Condit, Larson, & Alessio before it was injected into the UFC, MW had Sonnen & Filho, LHW had Stann, Cantwell, and Marshall. And then you have FW and BW, which WEC has on lock.

I like the WEC, but they won’t have enough fighters/division or fanbase for a standalone game, which is what started all this ridiculous talk.
I can see them piggy back’ing on UFC Undisputed game perhaps, but then the WEC will be hiding in a UFC Undisputed game, which I am sure the WEC wouldn’t like.

That applies to every promotion outside of the UFC. IF this EA game becomes the WEC game, that would be a really good way for EA to help themselves snag the UFC license when it is up in 2011.

Exactly my point, which is why I stated that the game shouldn’t be tied to 1 promotion outside of the UFC =)

Your going to have a game with 3 divisions (FW, BW, LW) and with limited amount of fighters? Much better to make a game with fighters from different promotions so they are not limited to only a set of fighters from one promotion.
155,145,135,125 is more than enough… possible female division to boot? :)
Look at fight night they dont have that many fighters and weight classes.
No one is seeing the most important factor here:
and that’s Zuffa’s distribution channel. The only reason this isnt a WEC game yet is because THQ was on life support. Wait until the game comes out.
anyone who can fight at 125 needs to have a freaking sandwich and come fight with adults.
I dislike Matt Hughes.

Ima have to disagree with this.
If the UFC Undisputed Franchise does well, then I could see a WEC based game coming out in 2-3 years, after they get more exposure, keep building up their divisions (as well as developing a Flyweight division, and maybe adding some Women’s MMA fights), and possibly fventuring into PPV territory.
One thing I noticed about the UFC video game is that the fighters move much faster than they should, and the clock goes physically faster. With a WEC game, in which the faster, lower weights are displayed, they wouldn’t have to speed the fighters up as much, which would allow fights to go as long as they should.

Agreed. This game would be quite boring… Look at all the talent the UFC has, and you still end up fighting the same 3 guys for the second half of career mode.

I had heard that you were “Mr Inside Info” but sadly, that never eventuated so now your predictions dont carry much weight.

2 Weeks later after I said Fedor vs Barnett at Honda Center for Affliction 3 with Mousasi and Belfort on the card, Josh Gross reported it on SI, and 4 months later, it became true. See, I can do it too and it was correct.
Wait... MMAlogic is supposed to be some prognosticator?
I thought MMA Supremacy was somebody in the know… At least he’s had stuff come true. I think he’s much more likely to actually be somebody that matters. Logic just throws shit at a wall and hopes it sticks. So far its a slippery wall.

Every man and his dog has been saying the next event is gonna be Afflictions last from their very first event, so you dont get credit for making that claim……..especially when it hasnt happened yet. I was referring specifically to the claim that an Atencio announcement was on the cards within the first week of Feb. It didnt happen…..and the first half of the year is nearly over and it still hasnt happened.
Im holding you to loftier standards than others due to this apparent reputation of yours as having ‘inside info’. I’ll remember this WEC claim of yours and if that call is a bust too, Im putting you in the same category as Michael Pepper from mmabay.co.uk…….that being that you operate based on the theory “If I make 10 bold, blind claims, 1 or 2 are bound to eventuate and nobody will remember the incorrect ones”.

Keep firing Assholes!

The Real Question Is...
Will Fedor sign with the Dodgers after he throws the first pitch of the baseball game hes attending?
so what promotions are gonna be in this mma game?other than strikeforce and wamma?
do you think dream is going 2 be in it?ea has never been asian centrist
Affliction, Strikeforce fighters most likely, and DREAM is a possibility.
EA mentioned that they will have the best non-UFC fighters, so that would mean some DREAM and Sengoku fighters, so we will see.
Already linked to the game are Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, Trigg, Fedor, and possibly Mousasi and Carano.
Great Info
Hopefully more news will come from EA about Fedor and Mousasi as fighters for the game.
I also wonder if there is more to Fedor and Mousasi visiting Strikeforce.
i feel like ea will continue to make mma sports until thq’s deal is up and then they are gonna make a play for ufc and drop all the other promotions from the game and soon we’ll have UFC/WEC 2012 by EA.
by then i dont think affliction or dream will be in business, and gomi, barnett, rodrigo, and sylvia will have retired or moved on to strikeforce(if that’s still around)
i can see fedor, overeem, and kid yamamaoto in ufc by 2011 and satoro ishii and moussai a yr after
the older guys like beflort and babalu wont have a job
ea always gobbles up its competition eventually thru their bucketloads of cash
thq will go the way nfl 2k and pro evolution soccer did to madden and fifa
ea starts with an inferior product but eventually thru marketing closes the gap just enuff to justify the switch of the company/franchise that owns the rights to the sport to switch over to them
i just hope we wont have to wait to long til ea can make a quality mma game
I agree with your analysis of EA.
I don’t agree with your assessment how everyone relevant outside of the UFC will be a bum or be in the UFC…LOL.
well im not saying their bums,im just saying that a lot of the old pride veterans are getting up there in age just like wanderlei, cro cop, anderson, hendo
so i just dont expect them 2 be around that much longer cuz they r getting old
belfort and babalu i think might still be in strikeforce
i think dream has a shot of becoming of the new pride if they get rid of this super hulk thing
but affliction just spends too much for not sufficient return
i dont see strikeforce as as too credible,so idk i just feel like all roads leads to ufc :/
This is a shitty poster. It looks like Fedor farted and is enjoying his own brand while the smell is just getting to Barnet. Its a poor design.

They have Rothwell on the poster. Thought they might be jumping the gun a bit until I saw somewhere else that he is fighting Chase Gormley (6-0). Seems a bit unfair for Gormley.
SATOSHI ISHII TO TRAIN WITH FEDOR EMELIANENKO AND GEGARD MOUSASI
Japanese Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii will be spending some time preparing for his much-anticipated MMA debut with a man he once publicly challenged.
M-1 Global sources informed www.M-1Global.com on Tuesday that Ishii will enlist the services of M-1 Global’s Fedor Emelianenko leading up to his first-ever bout under the Sengoku banner.
An exact date for Ishii’s training sessions with Fedor have not been finalized, however, sources within M-1 Global indicated that Fedor will work with Ishii in Holland at Gegard Mousasi’s brand new M-1 training facility in Amsterdam.
I like how he’s referred to as the WAMMA champ but they show him with the PRIDE belt.

I think this explains the big UFC Announcement today
Of course, there was an Affliction press conference.
Gegard Mousasi
Is getting so overhyped.
Doesn’t anyone get the feeling that he’s believing all of his own hype? He beat Kang (after being dominated at the beginning) and got a lucky kick in on Jacare and now he’s prancing around like he took out Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson all at once. He’s good but I honestly think he’s letting all the hype get to his head.
Huh? Why is that?
He hardly says anything and is pretty humble. He has a crazy winning streak and just beat Hunt, will fight Babalu, and the Soko. Not many people with a 10+ winning streak and that type of schedule exist out there.
