Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

Quote of the Day: Frank Lester

"I definitely get an adrenaline rush from fighting, and I definitely get that same fear (as he had in the military)." "I remember being in Iraq and doing cordon and searches through neighborhoods and room clearing, and nothing can be scarier than that. It’s a different kind of scary here as to where I always feel like my pride is on the line. When I’m in there, it’s not just me I’m representing – I’ve got my family, and I don’t want to look good just for me; I’ve got a daughter, and I don’t want to go in there and be a chump."

"My baby’s gonna grow up and youtube this. (Laughs) And when I’m in there, I remember that. Before I get in the cage, I always think about Jordan, and I’ve been in the cage in trouble before and had a guy on my back, whaling away, and I’m thinking ‘I better get out, Jordan’s not gonna want to see me get beat up like this.’ And I remember hitting a switch, coming around, and taking his back."
-- Frank Lester (3-2) trained with Dan Henderson, in Temecula, California to prepare for his bout Saturday night against Nick Osipczak (3-0).

I started out hating Frank for some reason at the start of TUF 9 but after 4 fights in about 4-5 weeks – dude has balls!

His shadowboxing everytime he stood still in the house did crack me up though.

Hopefully after training with Dan he’ll have learned a lot… Should be good fight

he was a dick

at first, discounting his opponent and even making the stupid bet for a $100 a tooth (oh the irony). but he took his whuppin, was humbled, and came out better for it. I think it brought out the REAL Lester, not a cocky punk showing out for the cameras and teammates. then manning up when everyone else bitched out was really admirable. As often as someone quits, in one way or another, on TUF, it was great to see someone really reach deep inside and show some heart.

Frank Lester

This kid definitely showed heart. It’s hard to root against someone who puts it all out there.

Frank was probably the only fighter on the show I actually did like. Did anyone else feel they didn’t do a good job this season in showing enough of the fighters thereby allowing the audience to get to know them? It seemed to me that there weren’t enough “interesting personalities” this season. And doesn’t Frank look exactly like that straiking dummy?

hell yea he does.

I was amazed when i saw that scene on tv. lol.

Frank Lester is a real tough guy who had 4 tough fights in a month… Guys like him will always have a place in MMA…. He has room to improve, and the willingness to push his limits… I think this experience changed him a lot, and for the first time in a while I actually was interested in one of the fighters on the show for real. lol.

what about nick?

i thought nick was a chill guy, who fought hard and had good technique. his head kick KO was sick too. whatd u think of nick?

This guy better win.

this guy won alot of people over i think

but it was only because he was humbled so much i believe. he won 2 and lost 2 while in the house, and after his BS win where the guy knocked himself out, he was acting douchier than ever. but after the teeth getting knocked out, he seemed like a real humble nice guy. in the end i respect his heart and his mentality but i will still be rooting for nick, as i like his style better. thanks frank for putting on wars. good luck
