Halfway through I’m like, gee I wonder how the other refs do this. Shamrock answered that question. He’s never had a more thorough explanation.

In an ideal world, John would be in charge of a society for MMA refs. It would provide education and continuing training, testing and certification, and supervision and disciplinary action. But that’s never gonna happen. See you at the next “What was thinking?” post.

I’d love to see John out of refing for the purpose of running refing and its training. He should have a role that has far more wide ranging impact than what he does refing individual fights.
