voted for diego, but if he hasn’t adjusted to the weight cut yet, i could see clay giving him trouble with his pace. sanchez didn’t look nearly as explosive in his last fight.

Guida uses his wresting almost exclusively, but Diego is a vicious wrestler/GnP’er – even if Diego tries to stand like in the Joe Stevenson fight, Guida will take him down, and Sanchez will outscramble him via size/strength. I like Guida, but I don’t see how he wins this unless the MMA Fairy gives him three wishes.

I love Guida, one of my favourite fighters, but he’s very undersized for 155 against a very, very big guy at that weight. Guida’s wrestling is his bread and butter, but Sanchez is a hell of a lot better than Nate Diaz in that department, and his striking will be much better than Guida’s (which lately seems to consiste of hooks that miss by about two feet). I just don’t see how Guida wins this fight unless he explodes into Sanchez for a take down and actually FINISHES HIM from top position.

Guida’s only chance is to hump his way to a decision. Sanchez has many more tools with which to end the fight.

^^This

Exactly. Guida’s got comical striking and has shown little-to-no subs.

I picked Diego

But I think Guida has more than a chance at winning.

I thought Diego always kinda looked robotic, and he’s even a little psychotic, but hey it’s fight sport!

This should be a great scrap if it stays on the feet, but I see Guida wanting no part of that and I see him keeping Diego pressed against the cage while diego defends the take down, and there will be a few scrambles, but I dont see either guy finishing the other one.

all you gotta do is...

wow, not too many cast members making it to the finale. or are those matchups expected to be announced later on?

by woooburn on Jun 16, 2009 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

There are at least two preliminary fights (Burns-Lytle; Guillard-Tibau) that I am VERY interested in.

Guida is going to win Diego looks weak and unimpressive at LW, Clay is going to push the pace and wear him down to win the decision.

I like Diego Sanchez. He’s a wrestler and his striking has improved. Clay Guida is a Lycan tho and it won’t be easy for Sanchez if they take it to the ground.

And I like my boy, Demarques, I just hope he doesnt gas out.
