UFC 99 Results: Mirko Cro Cop Batters Mustapha Al-Turk For First Round Win

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic had a lot on the line going into his UFC 99 return against the largely unheralded Mustapha Al-Turk. After coming in as one of the most highly touted UFC signings in history, Cro Cop washed out after going 1-2 in three fights.

Thanks to a timely eye poke to his opponent, Mirko Cro Cop won his return fight to the UFC. Scoring with a barrage of punches, Cro Cop dropped Al-Turk and referee Dan Miragliotta stopped the fight. Cro Cop apologized after the fight, but said it "wasn't a thing that made a diffrence in the fight."

Al-Turk immediately pushed forward for the takedown behind a flurry of kicks and punches but Cro Cop shrugged off the British wrestler's first shoot and continued to plod forward, stalking his foe. After inadvertently catching Al-Turk with an eye poke that forced the wrestler to cover his face and turn his back, Cro Cop followed up with hooks until the ref stopped the action.
