UFC 99 Results: Spencer Fisher Wins Unanimous Decision Over Caol Uno

Despite ending the fight on his back, taking damage, Spencer Fisher was awarded a unanimous decision at UFC 99 over Caol Uno.
The German fans seeing their first UFC didn't appreciate the non-stop action of the three round war of attrition between Caol Uno and Spencer Fisher. But it was a textbook display of skill and determination between two very evenly matched professionals.
The word on Spencer Fisher has been that he's dangerous on his feet but vulnerable on the ground. Caol Uno tried to test that proposition from the beginning of their UFC 99 lightweight clash. The two fighters spent an uneventful first round with Uno trying to shoot on Fisher, Fisher sprawling well but only getting one chance to score on the feet.
The second round was another technical battle as Uno strove to force a ground fight and Fisher defended expertly. At the beginning of the second, Uno got a single leg but Fisher was quickly able to stand back up. Uno began to score with leg kicks, shot only to be stuffed by a Fisher sprawl, but then managed to roll Fisher to his back. Once in Fisher's guard, Uno wasn't able to do much as Fisher escaped to his feet. Fisher made the mistake of going for a hip-toss only to end up on his back. The German fans booed the lack of obvious action, but to those who can appreciate MMA technique, it was a good round.
Uno was again relentlessly single minded in the third round, always working for the takedown and controlling the fight. Fisher landed a couple of good shots, but mostly was forced to defend against non-stop takedown attempts. As the clock wound down, Fisher began to score with more punches and knees as Uno didn't succeed in keeping the fight on the ground until the waning minute of the round. Uno scored from the top, but apparently didn't do enough to impress the judges.

is there some correlation between boring fights and bad decisions?
they seem to be related
i thought Uno was robbed… i guess if this was judged on japan MMA criteria, Uno wouldve won.. oh well.. uno had the cooler haircut.. that should count for something.

Yeah...
I gave round one to Fisher and the last two to Uno, but I knew as it ended that Fisher would get the nod. Bleh.
