I voted indifferent, but I like it more than I dislike it.

I like it...

if they’re going to do a team vs. team concept this has more of a built in interest than simply randomly picking guys from the same pool.

Country vs. Country I like. Another US vs. UK, not so much, change up the countries.

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

I like it as long as they can find appropriate skilled fighters. The team thing worked well because both sides were pretty evenly matched. I’d say this was the most entertaining season in a long while.

by pr0cs on Jun 12, 2009 5:17 PM EDT reply actions

I don’t like it. I hated that the American “team” was so football huddle about it all.

How taste my pee pee pee? LIKE WIN!!! Thank you Machida!

Taken in isolation, it sounds more like another dig at Tito to me. But who knows, maybe he was straight faced and sincere sounding when he said it.

by -Sam on Jun 12, 2009 7:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Come on

I would certainly love Ortiz to get his ass torn up by Machida. Again.

Andy Reid is the only coach in NFL history that uses the pass to set up the pass.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tito come back as a tough coach against Chuck Liddell. A comeback for Chuck is inevitable.

by MMAEruption on Jun 12, 2009 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s TUF coach, not tough coach.

Does anybody still care about Season 9 now that we know how interesting Season 10 will be?

by Higgz on Jun 12, 2009 5:53 PM EDT reply actions

Pretty boring season this season, dunno why it was a homerun.

Country vs Country works if you pick the best guys from both countries not just a bunch of select guys from 1 country and then buffers on the other side to not make them look awful.

They cant seriously say they picked the best candidates for the US team as most of them looked like they were barely graduated from regional $50 to fight shows.

by DirtyML on Jun 12, 2009 6:05 PM EDT reply actions

Nationalism FTW

Who cares what country the fighters come from?

Not only is it silly as a concept but the format never even really played out that much.

sure Bisping is a dork and makes “Go UK!” comments and stuff but with the US infighting it hardly matters.

The UFC should focus on talent, not nationality.

btw, heavyweights is sounding 10x more interesting than this season. (not only kimbo, but some actual super legit prospects)

by Gerrymanderer on Jun 12, 2009 6:09 PM EDT reply actions

I agree. I found myself rooting for UK guys as much as US guys.

I also agree TUF10 will be sick. Roy Nelson??? He might be the most established fighter ever on the show

by Flyghtt on Jun 12, 2009 7:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Most established by far.

Brazil vs Brazil

and use rival gyms who hate each other. I bet we would see the most explosive house we ever have.

by Riney on Jun 12, 2009 6:18 PM EDT reply actions

Dana says that about everything. Almost every Fight Night that is held in a new city Dana comes out and says he was so impressed with the turnout that he is going to soon bring a PPV event to that city. He said it in Tampa and in Nashville and several other places. It is his way of winning favor with the locals or in this case the fans of this season of TUF.

On a personal note – I hate the country vs. country thing. Too many guys that train internationally and such to really pit nationalities against each other. I mean, half of the guys that train in Bisbing’s gym are U.S. guys and vice versa.

by Fight Genius on Jun 12, 2009 6:19 PM EDT reply actions

Except that Dana went on record multiple times before the season to say that the concept was stupid and it was a decision of the network. It’s significant in that he’s changing his tune completely.

"I'm AJB and I endorse this nut-puncher."

I DO LIKE THE RIVAL GYM IDEA! That would be good.

by Fight Genius on Jun 12, 2009 6:20 PM EDT reply actions

Ick! I don’t want to be reminded of the IFL…

by MMAEruption on Jun 12, 2009 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Whatever, this was a good season regardless of the theme, but they should change the country cause this will get old real fast.

by spectaa on Jun 12, 2009 6:46 PM EDT reply actions

If you want to make it international

Put in USA vs. Canada.

Or better yet, Germany vs. Poland.

Training Camp vs Training Camp, or Brazil vs US

US/UK rivalry isn’t interesting enough to continue

by Flyghtt on Jun 12, 2009 7:18 PM EDT reply actions

Hardy vs Fitch
assuming Hardy can get through his next couple of fights

still i’d prefer Brazil vs Canada with A.Silva and GSP

Dana told me TUF was going global but didn’t specify countries.

Out out, you demons of stupidity!
