With Ken Shamrock's WARGODS: Valentine's Eve Massacre being a huge hit, I thought you guys could use a couple of updates for one of our favorite MMA promotions out there. They have two cards planned, one on May 30, and the other on June 20. MMA Fanhouse is now reporting that WARGODS have made an offer to War Machine to fight on that June card:
War Machine (born Jon Koppenhaver) is considering an offer from the War Gods promotion to compete on their upcoming June 20 card. The event takes place in San Diego, which is where War Machine currently lives and trains. Since his release from the UFC last spring, he has won his last three fights in a row. No potential opponent has been announced. War Machine fighting on a War Gods card seems like a pretty natural fit.
Now, on to their upcoming May 30 card... It was supposed to be headlined by Vernon White and Josh Haynes, (awesome original poster), but Josh had to pull out.. (also the reason for the new poster on the right). The wargods official site now reports that:
MMA Veteran Vernon "Tiger" White will now face Canadian ECC Lightweight Champion Lew Polley at Wargods "Five" at the Viejas Casino in Alpine, California. Lew Polley, a former American Top Team member and IFL vet, comes to Wargods via Temecula’s Team Quest. Polley is looking to establish himself as a top contender for Wargods’ vacant Light Heavyweight belt. However, before he can do that he must get past "Tiger" White.
The Valentines card that Wargods put up was a record setting event here in Bloody Elbow, and while there won't be a Tank Abbott or a Ken Shamrock on the card, it doesn't mean it can't be as good as last time.
They'll probably still have raffles and snowboards. They'll probably still have ring girls who look like they still have $1 bills hanging from their bra. Most importantly, there will still be WASABI!
Our very own Brent Brookhouse has already said:
So hopefully the (War)Gods hear our request and provide us with an online stream to set forth another record setting, uber awesome, wasabi filled event we will never forget.
