The Ultimate Fighter 9, Episode 6 Live Thread
The U.S. and U.K. split fights last week with lightweight Andre Winner and welterweight Damarques Johnson advancing. Last week, we saw the morale of each team travel in opposite directions. Team U.K. came together like the Brady Bunch while team U.S. went the route of Lanford, Illinois' Conner family. Will the U.S. team solve the morale problems or does Dan Henderson have to play Dan Conner all season? And just where exactly was Michael Bisping? Enjoying some refreshments at Crown and Anchor?

Can’t be worse than Watchmen…
"He’s a southpaw counter-striker...it’s not like I’m going to go jump his shit." - Forrest Griffin talking about Anderson Silva
Watchmen was decent – the problem was that Zack “300” Snyder was to faithful to the comic and didn’t adjust it to allow for a different medium.

i love/d the comic. the movie was just a bit disappointment to me.

that was a sweet idea. there are parts of the movie that were good. but overall i was disappointed probably because i was tooo excited about it to begin with.
"He’s a southpaw counter-striker...it’s not like I’m going to go jump his shit." - Forrest Griffin talking about Anderson Silva
I was never completely sold on it – because a fanboy adapted a Frank Miller comic about a fight, he can direct an Alan Moore comic about the nature of morality amongst self-made superheroes? I wanted David Fincher to do it, personally.

I don’t know a whole lot about Fincher and his capabilities. But what 300 was spot on from Millers, but again, completely different levels because Millers wasn’t as complex as Moore’s.

Fincher did Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, and Benjamin Button.

hmmm. then i agree with what you’ve said. I’ve read both Fight Club and Benjamin Button, and have seen Se7en, FC, and most of Zodiac. so with what i’ve seen looked like good adaptations.

Green Berets are no doubt bad ass, but aren’t they more valuable for training local forces and helping them fight the war while spetnaz is more anti-terror or hostage rescue assault? I think the Green Berets are probably more valuable strategically but I think a Spetnaz squad would take a Beret squad tactically in a fire fight.
