This is a quick turnaround fight for the Polish Experiment--he just finished beating Brian Stann via Kimura at 3:53 in the 1st. He didn't take much damage or fight a long fight against Stann, so maybe he figures he'll just roll last training camp into this one. Very different opponent though who presents a whole different set of challenges.

Pick the winner?
I had Krzysztof over Stann for UFC 97, which didn’t seem a popular opinion round these parts, but it proved correct. Not sure if Krzysztof is ready for this test though—I worry about taking on a ground wizard on such short notice. I’ll wait for the line, but if Krzysztof is +150 or more I might put down a flyer.

I also had him beating Stann and I had him winning by submission. His ground game is very underrated and I see Stann as fairly one dimensional. You’re right though, this is a tough test and step up in competition big time. I think Gusmao wins this by a sub, maybe a triangle or rear naked, in the second but if Krzysztof can pull off a win here might he be ready for a gatekeeper like Jardine or the loser of the Vera v Hammill fight?

Got to respect the guy for stepping up and this is a much more interesting fight than it was before (I’m not sure why Houston Alexander is even still in the UFC).

He’s very good at what he does(hitting people really hard) it’s just that he doesn’t seem to be very good at anything else. He reminds me of a 90’s UFC fighter.

I agree with his ground game being underrated, and i think he can easily outstrike gusmao,so I think that he will be able to keep the fight standing and pick gusmao appart…. ill be going with The Polish Experiment on this one

Ugh… is K-Sos serious?
This isn’t a good matchup for Soszynski. Gusmao has some very good Muay Thai, and while Jon Jones defeated him, Jones is also underrated and tosses a heavy Light Heavyweight in Bonnar all over the mat. Gusmao is going to be very tough for Soszynski to pick apart. I think Gusmao can win this one pretty convincingly.
