Shine Fights' Second Card Taking Shape: Micah Miller, Vanessa Porto and Milton Viera Added

29zvcef_mediumThe first Shine Fight event is still four days away - it goes down this Saturday, May 9th in Columbus, Ohio, and features Antwain Britt (6-2) vs. Antonio Mendes (16-4) - but the fledgling promotion is already hard at work on their second show.

Shine will travel south to Miami on July 25th for a card loaded with Brazilian fighters. In the main event, Roan "Jucão" Carneiro (12-8) faces countryman Jorge "Macaco" Patino (22-11-1). Carneiro was originally scheduled to face Ronald Jhun on this weekend's show, but the bout was scrapped due to "unforseen circumstances." Now the Carlson Gracie black belt will try to end the hard luck skid which ran him out of the UFC with a win over Chute Boxe Sao Paulo's top "Monkey."

In co-featured bouts, Brazilian Top Team's "Miltinho" Viera (9-6-1) will have his second-ever bout on American soil against Thug-Jitsu practicioner Carlo Prater (23-6-1), and the "White Bear," Jean Silva (15-8-3), will make his first appearance in over a year against two-time Rio Heroes champ Flavio Alvaro (24-6). Also lining the undercard are DREAM FWGP participant Micah Miller (10-3), Dave Terrel (5-2) (aka Not That Dave Terrell) and the excellent Vanessa Porto (8-3). Porto takes on rising Gracie Fusion prospect Ediene "India" Gomes (3-0).

Is it not this guy?

I made sure to mention it’s not “The Soul Assassin” in the post, as that’s tripped me up more than once in the past.

Nice looking card here. Quality fighters for such a young promotion.

I hadn’t heard retired, though I know he got injured in the fight with Imanari. He’s fighting this weekend in the UK too.
