Fedor Chant
I saw this on cagepotato. Apparently posters from their forums are trying to get as many people as possible who will be attending UFC 100 to start chanting "FEDOR" after the HW unification bout. It would be quite interesting to see Dana's reaction to an entire arena chanting the name of the best HeavyWeight NOT in his orginization.

Hilarious!

I like the idea but man this is UFC 100. Kinda like a slap in the face IMO. I wont be there but I’ll be lookin out for it. :D

It is about the same thing, both are things the company does not want to spend so much money on.

Anabolic Steroids don’t have the negative stigma attached to them in Japan that they do in America. Honestly, the public perception of Roids/ GH/ etc. are blown out of porportion, and largely erroneous. Very few people in North America know any of the real facts about Steroids and such.
However, it’s pretty obvious that Fedor isn’t in the UFC, and that he’s the #1 HW in the world, as well as a perennial p4p great.

Yeah, I’m decidedly anti-PED’s. And Fedor has passed two drug tests in the last year. But fuck Japanese MMA for not protecting the fighters by testing for roids.

I’d hope so- he doesn’t exactly have… a roided physique.
Then again, Kyrill didn’t look like he juiced either.

Fedor takes a long time to heal from injuries, notably his hands, but aren’t steroids supposed to speed up recovery?

The dudes a heavyweight, do we really have to see him in the underpants? Put on some fucking tracksuit pants or something.
I know, dude.
The boxer- briefs are killin me.
I could see a dude like Arlovski or Dos Santos weighing in with their shirt off, but Kyrill? C’mon, man.

This does nothing and is suggested out of spite.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
Casual fan: “What are they chanting?” “Who is Fedor?”
If nothing else this will cause a dialogue and absolutely could cause a demand for Fedor. Imagine a bunch of curious regular fans being told to check out his highlight reel on YouTube.
I want to see him in the UFC before he is too far past his prime. No one wants to see him fight Jeff Monson. Tim Sylvia beat Monson, and we all no how Fedor handled Tim. We have to try anything we can to make this happen. I won’t be there, but it would be awesome to hear on the PPV.
This will do jack squat. UFC and Fedro do not need each other at all.

MMAth FTW!
Not.
Monson could present some very legitimate problems for Fedor. IMO, Monson is just on the cusp of a top 10 ranking. He’s beat some very tough guys lately, and I’d give him a chance against Fedor (albeit a VERY small chance, like 5%).
I would much rather see Fedor fighting Barnett (first and foremost), or even Overeem, but I won’t be too bitchy as long as he’s fighting quality opposition.

“albeit a VERY small chance, like 5%” = Quality opposition?
I would like to see him fight Overeem that has potential to be a great fight. Barnett is overrated, but I wish him dead so I’d be happy to see him fight Fedor too.
After these three fights are we back to rematches and freak shows? Any one really deserve a rematch (maybe Arlovski, but he is into boxing lately)? Or will Fedor’s management consider real negotiations with the organization that holds the rest of the top HW’s?
Monson is, IMO, a top 12 HW.
It’s just so happens that he matches up terribly with Fedor. He probably won’t be able to take Fedor down consistently, he doesn’t have the ground game to sub Fedor, and his standup isn’t good enough to threaten Fedor, either.
I think Fedor easily outstrikes Monson, and stuffs any takedown attempts Jeff tries to mount. Fedor either by UD or (T)KO.

A 5% win probability roughly calculates to something like a -1000 gambling line. Which is what the Fedor/Choi line ended at.

Not at the price they're charging for UFC 100
If you’re willing to pay $100+ a ticket, are you really gonna wanna participate in dissing the main event?
"It's like a flying knuckle sandwich." --Rogan
"And many men have eaten it." -- Goldy
I think you forgot a zero there.
I don’t see how it would be dissing the main event… people want big fights. Fedor is the true HW champ of the world. What is wrong with calling for the UFC champ to fight him? And most importantly, it would be funny since UFC PPVs are totally not equipped to handle that kind of crowd reaction. Would they ignore the chant or actually play into it?
Yr right, more like $1,000
Do you think those guys are sitting around all day reading blogs looking for silly chants? No way—these are guys who make a lot of money and this is there time to go out and have fun, not protest some hardcore MMA issue that a lot of casual fans couldn’t care less about. I’d be highly surprised if you hear a single “Fedor” chant, and the UFC could easily mute or cut-away to prelim footage or stock commercials if there was enough of a movement to be noticed by viewers.

Smoog, do you think Dana doesn’t want Fedor in the UFC? Don’t you think he’s already offered to make the guy the most well compensated fighter in the history of mixed martial arts?
by Derek Suboticki on May 4, 2009 9:39 PM EDT up reply actions
I really doubt...
that he has offered Fedor more money than guys like Chuck, Tito, Randy, etc. have made in the past.
And I SERIOUSLY doubt that he’d be making anywhere near the kind of bread Affliction is giving him (with the cuts of PPV revenue he likely recieves).

He's claimed
That the contract offered to Fedor would’ve made him the highest paid fighter in MMA history, and Fedor’s camp never said that wasn’t true.
by Derek Suboticki on May 5, 2009 12:29 AM EDT up reply actions
Fedor doesn’t get ppv cuts with Affliction and with as few as they sell it wouldn’t do him
Much good anyway.
Well, I'm at least sure...
that M-1 pays Fedor handsomely for each fight. I’ve heard figures upwards of 1 mil per fight.

If Mir beats Lesnar decisively in the rematch...
then I would absolutely love to see Fedor/ Mir. Mir has even said that he wants to fight Fedor.
And I think it would be a competitive fight.

This would be AWESOME!
i’ve been accused of being a UFC fanboy, but this would crack me up. what would rogan and goldie do?
I'll tell you what this will do....
Dana White will laugh and make fun of Fedor’s representation…
Goldie and Rogan will start talking about UFC 101…
If Lesnar wins, he’ll storm off pissed because he’s “fuckin sick and tired of hearing about Fee-door”
If Mir wins, he’ll laugh and start yelling out to the crowd saying that he’d fight Fedor anywhere, anytime….. but would have another “knee injury” when the put up or shut up time came around.

OR!!!
We could wait for the Affliction card when Fedor fights next, and get the crowd to chant “Fuck Sambo!!”
Approaching the wrong end
Go to the next Fedor fight and chant ‘UFC, UFC’. Because it’s Fedor that must go to the UFC, not the other way around.
No way, dude.
Fedor doesn’t need to fight in the UFC to solidify his status as the top HW, or as one of the greatest fighters ever.
On the flip side, it would make the UFC’s HW division much more credible if they had the #1 fighter in that division on their roster.
As I remember, one of the sticking points for Fedor was that Dana wouldn’t allow him to compete in Combat Sambo, in which he’s a national hero for. If this chant actually happens, then it could possibly light a bit of a fire under Dana’s ass to try and sign Fedor, and could potentially force him to be a little less dictatorial and controlling regarding Fedor’s contract.

If Sambo was all it would have taken, then it would have been allowed. The UFC doesn’t need Fedro, Fedro doesn’t need the UFC.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
Oh, i'm sure there's more.
But I would assume that it’s a pretty big deal.
You’re right, though- Fedor’s doing fine without being in the UFC, and the UFC’s doing fine without Fedor in their HW division.
I think it would help both parties if they could come to reasonable terms, but that would just be icing on the cake, as far as i’m concerned.

You’re joking right?
All this chant will do is disrespect the fighters that do actually perform on the card, risking their safety for some idiots to chant the name of a fighter that will likely never fight in the UFC due to his unwillingness to skip other engagements (Sambo) and the seemingly endless hangers-on that all have their hand out when dealing with Fedor’s payment contract. (M1 Global et al).
As long as Tito doesn’t start the chant……everyone will be wondering who “Fiadore” is
