And we went from getting a shitty fight to an interesting one.

Here are a few of her fights. Vs. Letourneau Vs. Marquez. Tell me what you all think. I think Kaufman has this one.
Tate’s pretty good, though. I recently watched her fight against Elaina Maxwell at 145 lb. Maxwell looked was a lot bigger, but Tate’s wrestling is so good that she controlled most of the fight and it actually looked like Maxwell might have tapped to an armbar toward at the end of a round though it wasn’t called as such.
Tate’s wrestling is definitely good, but Kaufman’s wresting is very under-rated because she usually uses it to sprawl and keep the fight standing. But she is also excellent at reversing takedowns; if her opponent doesn’t definitively get her to the ground, Sarah almost always ends up on top where she loves the g’n’p. She’s also a very good jiu jitsu player under Marcus Soares, even though she primarily uses it for position and sub defence.
I just don’t know that Tate’s ground game is good enough to take over against Kaufman considering that I think Sarah lights Tate up on the feet from the word go, and is a real nightmare to get position against.

I’m just saying Tate isn’t a pushover. Honestly, I haven’t watched enough of each of them to give a good opinion. Given your knowledge of Kaufman, I believe everything you say. I think it should be a good fight, and I’m glad Strikeforce made it happen. I’m inclined to believe that Tate’s size will be a factor if she’s able to make a close fight of it. She just looks fairly big to me although that’s not a scientific measure by any means. But as you say, Kaufman’s game is very well-rounded. From what little I’ve seen plus things that you’ve highlighted, there aren’t many holes to exploit against her.

Size could be an issue, and I think Tate’s best bet is to take Kaufman down and really work top position against her, stand if she starts to lose that position (don’t push a position if she could end up getting swept), and use her length to keep Kaufman outside while striking. It would be a sorta safe and boring gameplan, but the one thing Tate definitely has over Kaufman is a reach advantage.

Yeah, she’s a cutie. haha. Sucks for Tate, should be a good scrap though.
