Keyboard Kimura wonders whether Strikeforce champions Cung Le and Alistair Overeem will ever defend their titles and why no interim belts have been created like in the Lightweight division.

I was wondering that myself. They created an interim lightweight title a month after Josh Thompson broke his leg. Meanwhile Cung Le is on the UFC website now, and Overeem has fought more for other org’s than he has for Strikeforce since he signed on.
Yeah – it’s crazy to me, especially with the new talent in the organization after picking up the bulk of EliteXC’s roster.
While belts aren’t necessarily the be all and end all of fighting, you normally want your title holders to be people the fans can identify with and like watching. With Le and Overeem, Strikeforce fans have gone nearly three years combined without seeing half of the organization’s champs and that isn’t right.
