So it's official?
This looks like an awesome card. Absolutely cannot wait. I like the Affliction policy of doing few shows with major stars – whether by necessity or choice, I can’t say, but I like it.

Calling it Trilogy makes it sound like the last one..?

I was thinking the same thing.
Also, Buentello is signed to Strikeforce not Affliction. And unless they have him with a signed contract, it is typically illegal to promote a fighter for an event that he is not signed to.

there must be a hellified lawsuit coming then, given that his last two fights were for affliction. or maybe not.

He was loaned by Strikeforce. It would be like the UFC promoting Fedor before they had him signed to a fight.

considering that they loaned him out twice already and have an affliction sponsored fight on in a week, i think youre probably stretching to find a controversy.

Awesome!
2 more months! I doubt Barnett wins but I just wanna see it go past the 1st round!
So I just wanna know what Atencio meant when he said on twitter they would be announcing something which would show they were in it for the long haul…

im surprised no one is mentioning the goldenboy logo there..
….i hope they do good an all, but that is an uglyyyyy poster.
and yeah, it’s weird because trilogy does make it sound like it’s their last show..

If Barnett wins does that mean either fighter’s next fight will be with the UFC? I’m certain Dana would be all over the idea of bringing Barnett into the fold if he wins.

Showtime PPV?
Is that new, or did Showtime handle the previous PPVs?

They did the previous shows.

Maybe this is the last time they do it under that name (Affliction) and that’s what he meant about a huge announcement showing they are in it for the long haul?

Affliction will do a prequel trilogy after this.

So instead of Fedor, it’ll star Baby Fedor?

Why the hell does Barnett have an American Flag? Should be a Japanese Flag =P

Affliction COO Says ‘Trilogy’ Won’t Be Final Event:
Michael D. Cohen: Trilogy just means that this is the third. This is the third of the series. What it should indicate to people is that this is just the third event that Affliction will be promoting, and I can assure you that there will be a fourth; a fifth; and a sixth.
Yes the undercard will air on HDNet and the main card on pay-per-view just like “Affliction: Day of Reckoning”
