Dana White and the Special Announcement

Promoted from the FanPosts by Kid Nate.

According to Spike.com:

On Thursday, May 28 at 11PM, Spike TV will be airing The 2009 VGAs First Look E3 Special and Dana White will be stopping by to drop one of his patented "special announcements".

Will it be Rampage and Lyoto as the coaches of TUF 10 or the mystery middleweight fighter that "would blow your mind."?

What do you guys think it will be?

i’ve been around long enough to know that the “special announcements” either are something I already know, or doesn’t affect me (the Jakks toys, remember, the biggest announcement EVER!). so i’m expecting it to be Rampage vs Machida on TUF. as for a middleweight fighter that would blow my mind… there arent any. there are some good ones out there, no doubt. but i believe A. Silva & Hendo are #1 & #2, and right behind them is Demian or Marquardt… so a #5 MW cant blow my mind, unless fedor is going on a diet and dropping to 185.

The Jakks toy thing wasn’t the “big announcement” at that time, it was that Lorenzo left Station Casino for Zuffa. The Jakks toy deal was what people were joking about it being.

The Middleweight fighter that would blow people’s mind Dana was negotiating with was most likely the Roy Jones jr deal that never happened. Heck Roy just making his silly statement blew a lot of people’s minds, imagine if Dana had locked him down with a three fight deal.

Its the tuf coaches….

The “blow your mind” middleweight was Roy Jones but he was on a fishing expedition which Dana took as serious and then realized he wasn’t at all.

Thanks for the info. Now, when is the deal with Tito going to be done?

When his back heals, circa 2017.

That’s what makes sense, Roy Jones jr. jumped out with his statement shortly after Dana said that.

We all know it’s gonna be the TUF announcement. To the casuals, that IS a big announcement though…

I figured that the mind-blowing middleweight would most likely be Cung Le.

I figured Dana already forgot all about the “mind-blowing middleweight” and expected us to do the same.

by FRANKIE on May 27, 2009 11:27 AM EDT up reply actions

I am pretty sure it will be announced at the same time when the “next Anderson Silva” is revealed.

It’s probably going to be Rampage and Machida coaching TUF which wouldn’t be a special announcement, it would be a disappointment.

For the casual fans that would be a “special announcement”. Us hardcore internet fans normally aren’t the target audience for these kinds of things, it’s the casual SpikeTV loving UFC fans that are.

Maybe Undisputed 2010?

Maybe?

Dana's "special announcements"

Suck balls.

So I’m betting the UFC is coming out with their own line of Pez dispensers.

I completely agree, and I pray you’re right. Le is incredible — I think a fight between him and A. Silva would be a barnburner.

I think a fight between Cung and Anderson would end quickly with Le’s lights shut off.

I’ll go out on a limb and say he’s announcing he signed Carano. I know, I know… she’s supposedly signing with Strikeforce….
