Mixed Martial Artwork: BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
This is "BJ Penn" by the very talented James Chew
This piece is entitled, MMA 2 by the very talented Mollygrue
This is a BJ Penn double feature by two very talented artists. These two digital paintings have very different and contrasting styles, but both of them have qualities that make them look great in their own way. James Chew focuses on BJ Penn and made his piece look as realistic as possible, while Mollygrue's style looks more like a traditional painting, and focuses more on the MMA fight itself rather than the fighter.

Is the second one Sherk and Penn?

I could only guess..
The artist really didn’t comment about the fighters specifically, cause as I said, he focuses on it being a piece on an mma fight rather than on the individuals on it..
But if I had to guess, I’d think it is sherk, if not Hughes maybe.. But again, making the fighter look as realistic as their counterparts probably wasn’t the entire idea and he most probably just used them as reference..

I really like the second one.

Yeah, it’s the little details that do it for me.. The texture and the people in the background add a lot in the overall look. :)

The first one seems off to me, if you asked me who that was, I probably would not have said BJ Penn.

Inaccurate art
While the likeness in the face on the BJ piece is well executed, the portrait is missing the diapers, tears, and court paperwork that is becoming Penn’s trademark. Can somebody with photoshop skills fix this oversight? Thanx.

I love the second one, but the first one looks like BJ Penn and the grandfather from Three Ninjas had a baby.
