ATTN: SO CAL BLOODYELBOW READERS

If you live in or around the Los Angeles area I have good news for you! I work part time at a bar located on the 3rd st promenade in Santa Monica, the bar is called Cabo Cantina. Cabo shows all UFC/PPV's at no cover charge! they've been doing this for about 5 months now and it's always a fun time. (If you drink) Our happy hour is 2 for 1 from 4-8p and then again from 10:30p-12:30a, there are never douche bag type bro I'm an mma fighter types, and not only are the drinks cheap, but the food is great too.

If you live in San Diego area go ahead and look up Cabo Cantina out in your area, call and ask if they also show the UFC ppvs! if they do it'll most likely be free of charge as well. Just a heads up guys. If anyone plans on coming down get at me! we'll have some drinks!

I’m not sure if the point of posting this is to hang out with BE people or to advertise the bar.. Haha. So which one is it?

When we get to the bar, should we just ask for poundnground?

Are you ready for the pure form?

Wouldn’t it be “Mr. P. A. Ground”?

HEY GUYS

Take pictures of the event if a few readers show and then post them here. I’d love to see them.

Anyone around the San Luis Obispo area?

I am wondering if anyone knows a good hangout for the June 8th WEC. I am beginning a several month bicycle tour of the US Sunday (clearly I cannot leave until after UFC 98), and will be in the LA area visiting friends next weekend and early the following week. I going to head north after that, and will probably be around SLO or somewhere in that area for the WEC.

And I have been slacking on writing another story, but one is in progress. Maybe next week it will be out, and it will likely be three parts. I have gotten some quotes from people already.

Yeah fuck yankee doodle’s. They charge $20 cover + $10 for a shitty buffet down in their basement. Do NOT go there

by Disco1Stu on May 22, 2009 6:41 PM EDT reply actions

To their (and other bars) defense...

Reason why lots of bars charge is cause they pay more than 50 bucks a ppv. They actually charge them a huge amount depending on what the bars capacity is etc. They charge between $1000-$4000 a PPV… Cabo doesn’t charge because money wise they do real good with alcohol and food throughout the day.

I’m not going to make it to Cabo tonight, My wife’s mom decided to have a surprise party for her today :( GOOD NEWS IS you can still go to Cabo and watch the fight for free and my father in law is ordering the fight. SWEET.

It would be interesting to find out where all the regular posters live so more things like this could organized. There is a seriously lack of people at the bar who can hold an intelligent discussion on MMA.

Bingo

I was going to suggest using this thread to organize potential meetups. Maybe we should start such a thread for a future event, with a little more advance warning.

AWESOME

I was thinking the same thing. Also, I should of done this a little earlier, but at least next time anyone out in LA will know where to go watch. I’m gonna make one on the June 5th Bellator show… It’s in Ontario, ca, and anyone from Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and LA counties should have no problem with it being too far, it’s centered kinda.

If it helps...

I did a hometown fanpost about that a while back, was supposed to do more with it, but got sidetracked when my college decided to cut my degree program, so the interwebs had to wait while we antagonized the Board of Regents. Now that it’s summer I could revisit it…

Indeed

I took part in said thread. Obviously to expand upon it, we’d have to start one that organized local meetups for events.

I poop rainbows.

I didnt know Cabo shows the fights

I live in Los Angeles (close to sunset) and usually either watch the fights at home or at Happy Endings (but I’m a little over that place due to my own overkill there). Do you know if the Cabo Cantina on sunset is doing the same thing.
