Buying UFC Undisputed for Xbox 360 at Best Buy
via ps3media.ign.com
As mentioned in an earlier post by Graven Image, Best Buy is running an amazing deal with the new UFC videogame.
For $60, you get:
- The game (duh)
- A free UFC DVD of your choice ($15 or less)
- $10 off a UFC pay-per-view of your choice
- $10 Best Buy gift certificate.
I was gonna buy the game anyway, so the rest is gratis. Overall, I look at it as paying $35 for a great Xbox game I was gonna buy for $60, and getting $10 off UFC 100, which I was gonna have to buy anyway, and $10 off the next thing I buy at Best Buy (where I frequently shop), and a chance to watch some prelim fights I missed in the live show.
By the time I got to the Best Buy in a suburb of Minneapolis, the stock of UFC DVDs had been ravaged. I was told by an employee that there was a line out the door before opening and it was all for this deal. In light of this, I think this game will make a major impact, and UFC is definitely going to benefit from the spotlight, what with a ppv coming this weekend and UFC 100 on the horizon.
I had originally planned to buy Best Of 2008, but it was sold out after the morning crush (I stopped after work around 5 p.m.). Considering I own the other UFCs that were available via taping PPVs, I was left to decide on the merits of the prelim fights alone. I ended up with UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote, a disappointing ppv that nonetheless featured four intriguing prelim fights that have relevence on the standings.
Overall, if you have a PS3 or a Xbox 360 and read this message board, you are probably going to buy this game anyway (and I'd question your fan loyalties if you didn't). In light of this, Best Buy is giving away free money, and you'd be a fool not to take advantage of this weeklong offer.

I ended up with “Best of 2007.” Plenty of selection left, but, I went on my lunch break. The employee said he could hardly keep the game on the shelf, as he put two more out to replace the last two that another customer and I had just grabbed. I don’t know how much they had in stock in the back.

I got ultimate knockouts 6.
If the best buy near you is out of dvds. Just order it online and say you’re going to pick up the game at the store and ship the dvd. It may cost a few bucks, but it may be worth it to get the dvd you want.
I live in the middle of nowhere so I really didn’t have any issues.

Best Buy in Canada had such a shitty deal compared to this. :( All you got was a free UFC 93 DVD with purchase, and that was while supplies lasted. I got the last DVD in the store, but I couldn’t care less to be honest. 93 wasn’t that hot of a card. Out of recent UFCs I would’ve preferred 84, 88, or 91.

I guess that’s when you take advantage of ebay.

HMV here in Calgary were giving away UFC83 with a copy of the game. 83 was a good event with a great undercard (and a nice bonus for those of us who actually went to the event in Montreal.
I normally don’t pay retail for games (I try to shop around to always pay less) but in this case I figured the DVD helped offset the retail cost.
Hope the game sells well, played 2.5 hours last night and had a blast.

There are about 200 copies at my local Best Buy. It wasn’t as huge here as they thought.
