Source: DREAM.8 Pulls a 3.4% Rating, Up From DREAM.7
Promoted from the FanPosts by Kid Nate.
According to Nightmare of Battle, DREAM.8's ratings are in and they fared a bit better than DREAM.7:
DREAM.8 is over and should have fans intrigued with the semifinals and final of the Welterweight GP. The event got a better rating than DREAM.7 with 3.4% compared to DREAM.7’s 2.4%.
This is encouraging. While DREAM.7 had some horrible ratings due to the time slot and some less than spectacular match-ups, DREAM.8 wasn't exactly a blockbuster event either.
We could probably give the credit to the main event in Hayato Sakurai vs. Shinya Aoki as not only a rematch bout, but also a step up in divisions for Aoki. Both fighters own respective drawing power pushed into one single main event likely had a solid impact as well.
The good thing here is that many of the other fighters on the event got some added exposure in Japan, and there were definitely some solid fights that could have earned some intrigue from fans. While this isn't unbelievable news, it's much better than the previous events' ratings. DREAM.9 should crush these percentages.

That’s not a very good graph.
Its like combining ratings for shows that appear on Spike TV with a horrible time slot with prime time events on CBS.

It does look misleading, but the Dream 6 number was to give context to Dream 9 in a way 7 and 8 could not.

No, Supremacy is right, that graph doesn’t mean much. DREAM.6 was shown live in primetime, while 7 and 8 were shown on tape delay late night on Sundays.

Comparing 6 to 9 will be the one to graph.

Dream 9 is on primetime tv it better crush those numbers. The question is whether they can beat the past primetime show numbers, if they don’t then there will be something to worry about.

Well, if they score in the 8-10% range that is probably enough to maintain the status quo. Anything over 10% would be great given their current position.

Well, you buried the lead...
I saw it on NoB earlier today, it’s just that it’s not a huge deal because this was never gonna be a ratings bonanza. Like you guys said above, #9 is the one that counts.

Is there an hourly/quarter hourly breakdown yet?

Obviously, the raffle is what caused the boost in ratings.
