Dana White Responds

So yesterday on my video blog,  obviously I chose some words that offended and hurt some people. And, anybody who knows me knows that I would never, ever maliciously attack somebody who wasn't attacking me. And, as far as the Gay and Lesbian Community, my comments were not directed toward them. I have no problem with the Gay or Lesbian Community. I am actually a suporter of many of their issues. And, the last thing that I would ever want anybody to think about me, or to think is cool, is to go out and attack someone because of their sexual orientation. That was not my intention; that's not the way I said it.  And, I apologize for anybody that I have offended or hurt.

The offending comments White is referencing:

And here’s a quote from a guy who wanted to remain anonymous because of fear of repercussions. Shut the fuck up. Any fucking guy who won’t put his name on it. First of all, whoever gave you that quote is a pussy and a fucking faggot and a fucking liar and everything else.

Dana on his recent comments, his future, and his FINAL video blog
Hey guys, I’m Carmichael Dave’s Producer.

Dave just got off the phone with Dana and Dave just went on the air and talked about the conversation. Here’s the link to download the audio:

http://mp3upload.ca/download/9882/da…ologue_low.mp3

Some bullet points:

    * Dana will make a Video Blog Statement
    * Most surprisingly, it will be his FINAL video blog.
    * Dana says he has no interest in media “games”
    * He’s tired, and is going to greatly reduce his PUBLIC role in the future.

Dave goes on to describe Dana’s thought process and mood. It was a very candid statement.

here's the link

from the thread:

Dave paraphrasing Dana (because he feels Dana trusts him enough to do that): “This will be my last Video Log”

Dave liked the video logs, the backstage access, the UFC hierarchy and Dana minions in candid. He’s very very sad, because they were tremendously entertaining.

More paraphrasing by Dave:
“He has put himself out there for so long, but done playing media games. I don’t blame anyone, I don’t want to deal with this, I’m tired, I’m spending, uh uh uh, tons of time away from home to advance this sport. You put yourself out there, people pounce on you and uh, I’m, uh, I’m tired of it, I’m greatly.. uh, I’m (I want to get this right), I will greatly reduce my public role, I’m going to scale back what I do in the public eye from here on out. I’ve, uh, come to that point.”

all the Dana haters got there wish

Honestly it’s the right choice for him, the guy does run himself ragged and wears his emotions on his sleeve too often. They have enough money to hire someone to be the public face of the company so Dana can just do what he does best, run the show.

So far everyone has missed the potential and real repercussions from this whole thing…

Does anyone actually think Harley Davidson can be pressured by homosexuals?

Here’s the problem:

Zuffa employ’s over 100 people and as of a few video blogs ago letting someone go who can possibly be a homo was potentially a huge liability.

As of last vlog you now have to worry about every female you let go.

This is the biggest real repercussion.

Secondly…

The biggest POTENTIAL repercussion is the European expansion… If you think political correctness is out of hand in the USA try going over to France.

the Gays and feminists are crazy over there.

Now this is the second fuck up.

1st it was announcing Rashad vs Rampage when the tickets were already on sale (this after changing the card already and not having this fight iron clad) You cant do this shit when the tickets are already on sale. You cant control injuries – but you can control premature announcements.

2nd is pissing off the Gays and Feminists during the European expansion… while creating an internal nightmare in the human resources department to boot.

The cursing is fine and a valuable part of his brand.

I could give a shit about homos, feminists or political correctness but at the end of the day using the words “fag” and “bitch” is not smart business.

Loretta Hunt is not a journalist… she’s a joke – and the facts of the situation have made that apparent – too bad it was lost because of dumb business.

I sent Jen Wenk a request for comment. I asked if White’s comment cohere with the legal responsibility to enforce anti-discrimination laws in the work place. I received no response, of course, but it’s a fair question. I agree Harley probably won’t care about the gay lobby, but there are likely gay employees within Zuffa and that’s the real issue – beyond the image issues the comment caused about Dana, UFC, MMA, etc.

Obviously you’re not going to get an answer because unfortunately you happen to hit the nail on the head :)

This is a human resource nightmare and a kick in the nuts for the euro expansion… will the groin shot effect the fight? Lets walk it off and take 5.

That idiot Elliot who follows Dana around is a complete imbecile who doesnt understand the term “edit”…

The morons at mmapayout crying about what Harley or anheuser think are clueless… If Zima was a sponsor for Zuffa then they can take out their scientific calculator and analyze the square root of 21 and might look like they know something.

He calls Tiki and Rampage “retards” and replies “yeah!” when Dollaway asks him if Condit-Kampmann was Fight of the Night. It’s just not Dana’s week.
