Speaking to reporters at a UNIQLO store launch he attended with wife Shin Yazawa, K-1 MAX champ Masato named Takanori Gomi and Tatsuya Kawajiri as opponents of interest for his upcoming July 13th bout at the K-1 World MAX Final 8 show. According to K-1, Masato's opponent for this bout will be chosen by the fans. He'll then face the winner of this year's K-1 World MAX tournament on New Year's Eve before retiring from competition.
Kawajiri has dabbled in kickboxing recently, knocking out Kozo Takeda at last NYE's Dynamite!! show, but it's interesting that Gomi's name would be mentioned, as some are speculating that DREAM will look sign the former PRIDE and Sengoku ace after his May Shooto bout with Takashi Nakakura.

![According to this translation of a passage from Takanori Gomi's blog, the Japanese lightweight free agent has been in talks with Zuffa while in Las Vegas for the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, aided by his friend Tito Ortiz. Gomi says that if talks with Zuffa fall through, Strikeforce is another option, and that he wants to have a deal in place to start the new year.

[UPDATE] It looks like the post has gone missing from Gomi's blog (that, or the quote was fabricated), so take this with a grain of salt for now. However, Gomi was most definitely in Las Vegas this past weekend for the big fight.](http://cdn3.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/86199/20091102045748_200910302479_small.jpg)
