Bobby Lashley signs with MFC, set to make debut May 15th
From MMA Weekly:
"Bobby Lashley is a phenomenal athlete and a very impressive fighter who wants to make a big name for himself in mixed martial arts,” noted MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich. “He is a very exciting prospect and he will get a monumental opportunity to break into the spotlight at MFC 21.”
Also, it seems that he'll be debuting his nickname as well- Bobby "The Dominator" Lashley. I haven't seen any dominating from Lashely, but the name fits his appearance I guess. Lashley's opponent will be Mike Cook (7-3) a Frank Shamrock trained fighter.
So looks like "The Dominator" will be busy this year as he already has 2 upcoming fights, May 15th against Mike Cook and June 27th against Bob Sapp.

Oh nice, Lashley getting some work in! I was wondering about him signing with them, thnaks! I guess Pavelich is ready to throw him in the mix to be a main event type guy already?

Ok, this is getting ridiculous...
First TNA…. then the Bob Sapp fight for June 27th…. now MFC for May 15th? I don’t see how Bobby Lashley actually does all 3 of these things.
I realize Bob Sapp isn’t a high quality opponent, but I wouldn’t sleep on him. Seems like “The Dominator” maybe spreading himself a lil thin here.
Agree on Sapp.
At this point in his career, Lashley is getting by with his power and athleticism. Problem is, that won’t work against a monster like Sapp. You can’t throw around a guy who outweighs you by 100 pounds. You have to beat him with skill. I’m not sure that Bobby has enough skills to make up for the massive size/power advantage that Sapp will have over him.
I’d like to see Bobby Lashley succeed but he can’t if he isn’t wise about the fights he picks. I realize he just wants to get the experience and he needs to make some money… but Bob Sapp has fought on the big stage in Japan so he shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Plus I think him doing the whole TNA bit is dumb…

Not to disparage Lesnar...
But isn’t that what he is getting by on? Power and athleticism? He hits like a ton of bricks, but his punches are most certainly not technical. He hasn’t exhibited any submission skill…
My point is if you are as powerful and athletic as these two (Lashley and Lesnar) then why not get by on them?
If you put Lashley
against any of the 3 guys Lesnar’s fought in the UFC he’d probably lose to them. Put Lesnar against Guida and the other guy Lashley fought I doubt they’d make it past the 1st.

“The Dominator” really – like Pizza Hut?
