Source: Wilson Reis vs. Joe Soto Set for May 8th Bellator Event

According to FiveOuncesOfPain.com's David Andrest, a source close to Wilson Reis has told FiveOuncesOfPain.com that he will take on the impressive David Terrell trained Joe Soto at the May 8th Bellator event set to take place in Texas:

The second round of the Bellator Fighting Championships’ featherweight Grand Prix is set to kick off on Friday, May 8 in Texas. One of the featured bouts will pit former EliteXC bantamweight champion Wilson Reis vs. former All-American wrestler Joe Soto.

FiveOuncesOfPain.com learned of the featherweight Grand Prix semifinal matchup on Wednesday morning after speaking with a source close to Reis.

At this point, the fight has yet to be confirmed, but it's likely going to be a barn burner of a battle if it ends up happening. This is truly a battle between two very talented up-and-coming featherweights, and I urge everyone to try to get a glimpse of this battle in the tape delay.

Soto wrestled at JuCo powerhouse Iowa Central where he brawled it out in the training room with UFC veterans Cain Velasquez and Jon Jones over the course of his college career. Add that to the fact that he trains with Brazilian jiu-jitsu Black Belt David Terrell and works his standup at Fairtex in San Francisco, he should be a stiff challenge for Reis.

Reis has the BJJ Black Belt credentials, and his overall look has many fans wondering where his finishing ability has gone. Soto has finished all of his opponents in the first round, so this very well could be a classic battle on May 8th.

I’m taking Reis by decision and Yahir Reyes over Estevan Payan in the other semi match.

Awesome, that should be a great fight.

I've rolled with Reis several times

He is just nasty. I’d say his arm drags and back taking skills are the best in the world at featherweight.

Reis is king. That’s all. Check out my Fanshot of him doing the peg board.
