Good to see Shogun get the props he deserves for knocking out Chuck Liddell in the first round.

Agreed. That was pure domination from opening to closing in my view. Not once was Shogun ever really in trouble.

Yup. Liddell didn’t have anything for Shogun. It was just a matter of time.

They gave Shogun a bonus after the Coleman fight too, it’s not like the UFC isn’t pushing the guy.

He didn’t deserve those props.

I deserved a bonus for watching Rua/Coleman 2. It took the heart of a warrior to take that kind of punishment.

FOTN?????

I would rather get my nuts slammed in a dresser drawer than watch Stout/Wiman again.

It was the most exciting fight of the night…not a great show. It had great fighters, but not so much great fights.

by szucconi on Apr 19, 2009 3:04 AM EDT up reply actions

Guess it depends on your tastes. I thought Kang-Poukam and Cantwell-Cane were more fun to watch.

by Chris Nelson on Apr 19, 2009 3:19 AM EDT up reply actions

Didn’t get to see Kang-Poukam, but wanted to. Stout-Wiman was at the top of my list for FOTN, but I was hoping prof. x was going to pull of a great one and get FOTN.

How did you not like that fight?

Incredible!

How does fight of the night not go to Kane vs. Cantwell????

Easy...

Stout vs Wiman was more exciting.

$70000 ? Is that Canadian or American? They don’t have to pay taxes on their bonuses up here either.

by bubbafat on Apr 19, 2009 3:26 AM EDT reply actions

they should have just had no submission of the night or given it to damien maia or dustin hazelett out of principality that was the worst display of jiu jitsu all night just because he had the only fight that ended with a submission doesn’t mean they should give him 70 grand for that crap

by drano on Apr 19, 2009 4:03 AM EDT reply actions

Not the only submission

Mark Bocek won via submission as well

What do I get for predicting Stout/Wiman Fight of the Night? I think I would like my Bloody Elbow letter jacket in red and black. Do I send my address and coat size to Brent or Nate?
