Forrest Griffin Is A Great Character

Since being introduced to Forrest during the first season of TUF, I can't help but love the guy's energy. You couldn't tell from his looks or through his actions that this former Richmond Co. law enforcement officer also held a B.A. in political science. You definitely wouldn't think that he could last to a decision with Dan Severn even if he did lose the fight, but he did. In his first pro fight. By the end of TUF 1, I knew this dude was for real!

Prior to his UFC career Forrest had notable wins over Jeff Monson in '02 and actually submitted Chael Sonnen via triangle choke at 2:25 of round one in '03. Not to mention his only two defeats came from Dan Severn and Jeremy Horn. To this day he has never been submitted.

I think he surprised us all as a coach on TUF 7. (loved it when he smashed Rampage in horse) The build up he and Rampage gave leading up to their clash at UFC 86 was awesome. (wonder if Rampage ever paid up on his " Our fight won't go to a decision. I bet my whole purse on it." tirade) Then captured the light heavyweight crown with a unanimous decision.

In his last three fights he has won:  Submission of the night- UFC 76 against Rua

Fight of the night- UFC 86 against Jackson

Fight of the night- UFC 92 against Evans

Yes, Forrest Griffin has been a great character for this sport and has been full of surprises. I'm sure that he will be in this sport for a long time to come. Thank you Forrest for just being yourself, a really cool dude!

Check this out if you haven't seen it yet.

Honest question:

Was the ring girl in that YouTube clip a little bit pregnant?

If you see Mark Coleman in person, drop $5 on the floor and watch the fun as he tries in vain to bend down and pick it up.

She may have just been bloated, you know, like the Cyborg issue. :-)
