Rumor: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson Returns at UFC 104 in October, Possibly in Tennessee
. . . former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson could return to action in October, possibly in his home town of Memphis, Tennessee.
Sources close to the Wolfslair Academy trained fighter revealed the news to MMABay earlier on today although the planning of the event is still in the early stages and a date is not yet known.
The opponent that day will be no surprise to fans as "Rampage" will meet the winner of the UFC 98 title clash between, Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida.
I generally take any rumor from this site with a shaker's worth of salt, but they do have sponsorship ties to the Wolfslair. Plus, the more trustworthy Dave Meltzer had this entry in his last Wrestling Observer newsletter:
There are serious talks that Quinton Jackson title challenge against the Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida winner, probably in September or October, would be held in Memphis. It’s not an official decision. Jackson grew up in Memphis, which is where the thought process comes from. It’s not a done deal but would figure to be UFC 103 or 104.

Yeah, that site is... yeah.
But the Meltzer thing lends it some credence in my eyes. Just figured I’d pass it along…

How much truth would you say that is to the rumor about 104 being in Memphis?

When asked by local reporters whether the UFC would be back for more in Tennessee, UFC President Dana White didn’t hold back; “Hell yes, we’re coming back to Tennessee. We’ll probably do a pay-per-view in Memphis.”
