On the same day that Rafael Cordeiro announced his resignation as one of Chute Boxe Academy's head trainers, Wanderlei Silva has expressed his satisfaction with the move and extended an invitation for his former coach to join his team in Las Vegas.
"He always was my friend and, for me, it would be very good to have him close to me," Silva told Tatame. "I leave here my invitation to professor Rafael Cordeiro to come to train with my people."
Wanderlei also made a prediction for the Anderson Silva-Thales Leites main event at Saturday's UFC 97: "No matter how hard Anderson has trained Jiu-Jitsu with Galvão and Jacare, this guy is on another level. I think that, if he can put him on the ground, Thales will catch him."

I read something a few days ago where Anderson said he’s cool with all the old Chute Boxe guys, but Wand does sound like he hatin’.
Here’s a rough translation of the full Silva-Leites quote, btw:
"Everybody is saying that Anderson is going to beat up Thales, that Thales doesn’t have any chance… But Thales is the man, he’s a young garotão (big boy) from an excellent team with Dedé Pederneiras, one of best the technicians of MMA of the world… This is the chance of a lifetime for this guy. He’s young, he’s trained his entire life and his Jiu-Jisu is different," analyzes Wanderlei, without seeing much effectiveness in the training of the champion with Ronaldo Jacaré and Andres Galvão. No matter how hard Anderson has trained Jiu-Jitsu with Galvão and Jacare, this guy is on another level. I think that, if he can put him on the ground, Thales will catch him."

I read something Sherdog where he said the coach of Chute Boxe forbid him from fighting in Pride while Wanderlei was on top and said he felt Wanderlei could of stand up for him in that situation with him having kids. They squashed it eventually around the time wanderlei returned UFC. Right now, from what I read, it appeas the relationship soured again.

I didn’t notice on the broadcast, but apparently Cordeiro was in Cris Cyborg’s corner for the Akano fight this past weekend. Fighters Only is speculating that this could be the end for Chute Boxe, since Rudimar Fedrigo is so tied up with his government duties that he hasn’t had much time to spend with the camp as a trainer in recent years.
for his people!!!
