Frank-mir

I’m going to soon be the the destroyer of Brock Lesnar’s legacy and career…. Obviously, I’m slightly scared — just look at Brock … he is a scary guy. When he was beating me down I went to tap. Oh, well, that’s right. Brock asked the referee to come over and save him! At [UFC 81] I wasn’t really working with a jiu-jitsu coach. I was my own coach. I now have Demian Maia who is my head jiu-jitsu coach. My game has gone drastically to different levels. I thought I was actually good at it until I started rolling with him.

A motivated Frank Mir...

…is a scary prospect…after his improved striking showing against Minotauro, now upping his ground game, I’m looking forward to this fight. I think he probably knows he could just as easily lost his first fight against Lesnar…this should be good.

Pro wrestlers are the ones who are supposed to be good at smack.

I think it’s only the female pro wrestlers who do smack – the males are on roids.

I can’t wait for him to start talking about the “Warrior Spirit” again. Every time somebody does that, it gets a big eyeroll from me.

You know, one would think that but sometimes I don’t think Mir realizes that. He was in serious trouble for most of that first fight and he acts like he dominated Lesnar.

I'm the kind of girl who loves to watch a GOOD fight!

That’s pretty impressive that a guy who has always been considered a top jits guy like Mir and who has been around as long as he has, been a former champion, etc., is going to somebody so new to the mainstream mma scene as Maia to advance his game. I’m a huge Maia mark, and this just ups his stock in my book. I’m really looking forward to how he might be able to advance Mir’s game for this fight.

Exactly, for Mir to realize that Maia is on a different planet

& know that he offers more to him than other trainers is big kudos. I agree that Maia’s help will help Mir overall, but against Lesnar I would think that the BJJ he already has would suffice. I am still picking Lesnar & I hope that Mir is doing more than sharpening up his BJJ to prepare for Brock.

Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.

Frank Mir is awesome.

b/c he doesn’t feel the need to act like a tommy toughnuts all the time. He knows he a good fighter, and has the balls to admit things like “Obviously, I’m slightly scared”.

That’s pretty freaking sweet to have Maia as a BJJ coach….esp. when your bjj is already siiick.

courage

It’s not about feeling no fear, or denying the fear you feel. It’s about acknowledging the fear inside you and going forward anyway. You’d have to be completely crazy to feel no fear when facing Lesnar, or any fight for that matter. Crazy, or just a liar. My respect for Mir only increases when he makes a statement like that. I’ll certainly be rooting for the technical fighter against the beast. Go Mir!

People should really watch the video. I LOVE Amir’s deadpan delivery – the kid is funny.
