Mystery DREAM Star to Shooto?
There's a very interesting post at Gryphon Japan today regarding some comments made on KOUBUDO TV by Masaki Hasegawa (right), president of Koubudo and manager of Shinya Aoki.
TODAY'S DEEP and 5.10 SHOOTO has supeise [sic] announce(about Dream?)
. . .
HASEGAWA said,
"In DEEP,(today!!) someshing [sic] surprise happen,DREAM -umlimited GP become interesting"
"SHooto too.... you maybe say"Oh,He comes?""this man comes?""amazing"............ this man has a big value,"
IMO,in Shooto
AOKI,KAWAJIRI,or ISHIDA fight in Shooto?
So: there's going to be a surprise at today's DEEP show regarding DREAM and an "unlimited" (open-weight?) grand prix. Then it sounds as if a second announcement is coming at the May 10th "Shooto Tradition Final" show with an "amazing" fighter coming to Shooto. Between Gryphon's three gueses, my money's on Aoki going back to finally defend his middleweight title.
Stay tuned...
[UPDATE] Seems to have been a false alarm from Mr. Hasegawa - there was no big DREAM announcement at the DEEP show, though a Riki Fukuda- Yuichi Nakanishi rematch was announced for DEEP 42nd Impact on June 30th.

I hope it’s not Aoki returning to fight at MW (or defend his title) because there really isn’t anyone remotely qualified to fight him there. Would not be interested in that at all.
At LW though, it would be interesting to see either of those three guys fight the current crop of guys competing in Shooto events. I would be pretty stoked for Ishida/Endo.

Kawajiri’s a former Shooto welterweight champion as well so, it could be as big of news for Kawajiri to fight in there as Aoki…maybe.

The reason I first thought Aoki is that Kawajiri-JZ is all but announced for DREAM.9 and Ishida may fight Melendez.
But the DEEP show is over now and none of the places doing live results have said anything about an announcement…
