MMAMania.com Turns Three
On behalf of everyone here at BloodyElbow.com, we'd like to extend a Happy Birthday and congratulations to our SB Nation partners in crime, MMA Mania. Here's their birthday message:
I just want to take the opportunity to quickly thank all of you and everyone behind the scenes who allow us to do what we do, which is scouring the Web, delivering exclusive content and breaking news frequently all in one convenient location.
If you haven’t noticed, we also like to have a little fun along the way. It makes all those late nights, early mornings and long days (even holidays) worth every ounce of energy we put into this online mixed martial arts machine.
We never take ourselves too seriously. And I think that resonates with most of you — this is all about discussing a great sport within in a tight-knit community of knowledgeable (sans the handful of inevitable trolls) and hardcore fans.
The best part is we’ve just scratched the surface.
We've always had a great relationship with Mania and look forward to working with them. We are a different site in many respects, but we compliment each other and know they fill an absolutely critical role in the MMA media. And we should be so lucky to ever achieve their traffic levels (they are the largest site in the entire SB Nation network). We applaud them for all their success and wish them nothing but more of the same in the coming months and years. Congratulations, gents. It's quite an achievement.

That sounds like the end of some jaded relationship.

that's coming
migrating a giant site like Mania isn’t something you can do overnight.

MMA Mania and SB Nation
You mention again that they are a partner in this grand SB Nation conglomerate of MMA and other sporting websites, yet I don’t see MMA Mania listed amongst the SB Nation pages.
Have they officially made that transition?

they have made that transition as a business entity
the technical migration is only in the beginning phases. Its like moving a goldfish into a new tank, you don’t just dump him in the water.

I think as of now the integration is on pause or has been slowed down dramatically due to the SB Nation itself getting a face lift. Mania feels that there’s no need to put the readers through 2 big site changes, so as soon as SB Nation has updated than Mania can too.

Thanks for the "NSFW" tag on that link.
Glad there was no one walking behind me right then.
