Alistair Overeem Returning to Strikeforce in June
Ariel Helwani gets the scoop:
Helwani tries to get the name of an opponent out of Overeem, but it looks like nothing is set. Interestingly, Overeem suggests that someone from Affliction could come to Strikeforce and fight him.
If they could get one of the names he mentioned to come over and fight Overeem, Affliction could potentially get rid of one of its obligations and we could end up with a tremendous card.

unless he fights some of the affliction guys he mentioned, i doubt strikeforce would give him a good opponent.. Maybe the best they could do is brett rogers.

Interesting.
The only match up I see for him in Strikeforce other than the ones he mentioned are Ben Rothwell, Whitehead.
If his last fight against bonjasky is anything to go by he will be wrecked by the end of the first round,i think he is carrying too much muscle and needs to lean out a bit, what is he 265???Even if he was to get down to 250 it would make a big difference cause his body is’nt used to the weight yet, after putting on so much in such little time
Exactly

Andre Galvao is headed to Strikeforce after the DREAM WWGP too...
U.S. fans will also be happy to note that Galvao will be looking to bring his submission-saavy game to Strikeforce following his run in the DREAM welterweight grand prix.
. . .
"Andre is currently signed to both Strikeforce and DREAM," Soares said. "Strikeforce let Andre go and fight in the DREAM tournament, but he has a contract already signed with Strikeforce.
i love overeems activity
the man stays busy. strikeforce is doing biiiiig things if they land galvao, also.
I can see the Affliction fighters coming through. Arlovski still has to get his fight’s in and Affliction didn’t have a problem with him fighting on EliteXC. Affliction seems to me looks like they are mainly doing the promotion thing as advertising. As long as they are getting a big sponsorship piece as they do with De La Hoya’s boxing promotions are more than willing to send their fighters elsewhere.
Fedor on the other hand is a different animal in that his contract is far from standard, and probably would require way to much “extra” negotiation of all the parties involved to make it happen. If Overeem can beat a couple of more guys (solid top 5 ranking) including at least 1 Affliction fighter I can see Affliction holding another pay per view for Fedor-Overeem next year.
I loved Overeem’s answers (and demeanor) to the tough unasked questions about his physic and drug use. Ariel Helwani, glad you broached the topic but if your going to touch the subject man up and ask clear questions.
