just posting the link
"the spirit of your average dumbass with more overblown rhetoric" OR "the self-appointed savior of MMA"
This isn't MMA.
So why is it on an MMA site?
I love that you guys think you should get credentialed at UFC shows when you post shit like this.
Although detractors decry (MMA) as a brutal, bloody form of human cockfighting, aficionados know it is a brutal, bloody, totally fucking awesome form of human cockfighting. -The Onion

its related
and I got it off Dana’s favorite mma site — mixedmartialarts.com
We’re not endorsing or promoting what they’re doing we’re just sharing the video of the documentary.

I love that you make comments like this while clearly not understanding anything about running a MMA blog.
What subtlety of running an MMA blog am I missing?
Please enlighten me.

apparently
there is one on the way.
"the spirit of your average dumbass with more overblown rhetoric" OR "the self-appointed savior of MMA"
we post videos from TUF too
without endorsing what they’re doing.
BE is an information clearinghouse. Deal.
"the spirit of your average dumbass with more overblown rhetoric" OR "the self-appointed savior of MMA"
Their rationale and catch phrasing is
going to get someone killed someday.
Sure, its better than pulling out guns to settle differences…but at some point someone is going to get seriously hurt, and probably because of a lack of quality officiating and quality medical care after a fight is ended.
yeah its fucked up
and i don’t approve. But that doesn’t mean a documentary on the topic is out of bounds.

I’d rather know about it and see it from the inside perspective than be ignorant of its existance.

Yeah...
that’s my thing. I don’t think these guys are bad people because they’re fighting in a back yard. Do I approve? No, someone could get seriously hurt or die. But, at the same time they’re adults choosing to take that risk to make some cash and maybe make a small name for themselves in their neighborhood. That really means something to some people.
If you don’t approve, cool. But it’s not on us to NOT post a trailer for a documentary because it offends a few peoples sensibilities as MMA fans.

Even just watching the preview reminded me how different my reality is from most of the guys featured, and consequently, how arrogant of me to sit on my high horse and judge them without knowing their reality, their motivations for doing it, etc. I worry about it, but I’m probably not in much of a place to judge or condemn.

I feel conflicted on this.
On one hand, I believe it’s a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt from the lack of medical care. On the other hand, some people can’t afford to train MMA and/or maybe this is their way of honing their skills.
Either way, I would definitely watch this doc.
