Spoiler-free request: new TUF season
So all of you folk "across the pond" in the US of A will be able to watch the first episode of the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter tonight, following right after Fight NIght 18.
What some of you may not be aware of is that, for us folk on UK soil, we don't get to see the same show unti the night of Monday, April 5.
When I looked at the programming schedules on ufc.com and uk.ufc.com, it appears that this pattern will continue for the forseeable future, i.e. each episode of TUF will air four days later in the UK than in the US.
This naturally presents a bit of a problem to UK fans (such as myself) who would prefer to watch each show without prejudice or spoilers potentially dampening the experience for them.
As such, I have a request for all the staff and readership at BE: any posts relating to the new season of TUF be prefaced with SPOILER alerts should they contain show specific information. I know that BE has a sizeable readership in the UK and, in the spirit of fairness, I'd like to think that this is a request that could be both respected and enforced.
Thanks to all for taking the time to read over this.
The FanPosts are solely the subjective opinions of Bloody Elbow readers and do not necessarily reflect the views of Bloody Elbow editors or staff.

I personally think, and have mentioned, that event outcomes should not be written in bold as article headers.
That’s really the best you can hope for.
If I were you and cared that much about not knowing TUF, perhaps you may want to just download the episodes the night they come out, which is a widely available and easy to accomplish option.

You’ll have to start doing what a lot of us international guests do – blackout MMA sites on the day of the event to ensure no spoilers.

having said that, there were no real posts about any TUF results on the previous seasons so this one should be no different. It’s a tv show more than an MMA event after all.

cool who would've thought people here would be able to watch it first? haha..
i never really watched a lot of tuf (except for the finales, and nover’s fights) cause by the time they show it here the season was already done and i already know the results.. (plus the antics didn’t help increase my desire to watch it..)

think that it is fair for you to get to watch it first. But what am I gonna do? I may not watch tonight at all in protest.
Psych, wouldn’t miss it for the world. TUFF is the crack of MMA & I get my fix tonight!
Can’t wait!!!!

You don't have to subjected to TUF for a few more days??

If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

Seriously, I never understood why people felt the need to put results, etc… in their titles. At least give people the option of foolishly opening the article!

One thing...
please realize that search engine optimization is a very big thing. Putting things in the title and main body are big for traffic.
So with major live events we’re not going to “bury” the results.
With TUF I have no problem not “spoiling” episodes that already aired in the states. The other hard part is that it airs at different times in different countries and we have to be effective in covering things quickly so that we’re not the last guy to the party.
It’s just tricky for us to balance writing things that interest people with providing the best chance to get these things found by non-regulars. (search engine optimization).

Excellent point, however, I expect you to put my personal needs ahead of all else, lol.

I’m curious to see the data on how many people search for “defeats” since that is the only word that would need to be removed to keep an article header non-spoiler.
Cole Miller v Junie Browning Results.
Cole Miller defeats Junie Browning
I don’t have access to your traffic data, obviously, but I would be surprised if “defeats” brings more hits than “results” or the actual subject/fighters being sought.

If they were searching “defeats”, wouldn’t they already know the results and therefore not be searching by “defeats”?

Generally...
we post results just as “UFC ## Results” and not the spoiler in the title. I’m saying we generally keep the title’s spoiler free but that we don’t keep the results off the front page (a lot of people request that).

How’s aboot we post the start time of the fight so you Brits can evade all of the shenannigans that take up the rest of the episode?
Keep firing Assholes!
