Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

20090401-00000011-spnavi-fight-view-000

Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro (19-2) will return to MMA for the first time since his September 2007 loss to "JZ" Cavalcante this weekend at DREAM.8 when he faces former Greco-Roman Olympic silver medalist turned mounted-gogoplata-receiver Katsuhiko Nagata (4-4-1). The lightweight (70kg) bout was added to DREAM's official site on Wednesday with no accompanying announcement, though the signing of "Shaolin" with DREAM had been rumored since late last year.

The post says DREAM.9 instead of DREAM.8

Even without Mousasi and Jacare, this is a pretty decent card, other than Minowa vs. Shibata each fight has some potential to be exciting.

Decent?

The card looks much better than decent IMO.
I am looking forward to most fights, and DREAM.9 is stacked.

OTHER THAN MINOWA VS. SHIBATA!?!?!?

WTF, dude, that’s one of the most exciting fights in the history of MMA. Honestly, what you just said is maybe one of the most unexpected things anyone could say about this card.

That fight is going to be awesome, and I’m really looking foward to it.

That’s a pretty nice addition. Shaolin should take it, but he’s been out for a long time now so i don’t find the mismatch at all offensive.

Sorry

That should be “take it easily.”

So thats this weekend… shit that kind of snuck up on me now didn’t it.

by Sam Cupitt on Apr 1, 2009 1:43 AM EDT reply actions

Damn, there’s a lot of MMA in the next few days. Three major cards is nuts.

I was hoping Shaolin would be paired with KTaro, especially since Shaolin’s original rumored opponent was “a Caol Uno student”. Either way, it’s just nice to see Shaolin back in the ring.
