Quote of the Day: Greg Jackson Expects Rampage Jackson to Be Prepared for Keith Jardine's Leg Kicks

3332469226_ce92f507f2_medium

"You have to remember that everyone is getting better. Quinton’s a smart guy and he’s going to go back and watch out for leg kicks. The Wolfslair guys are great strategists so they’re going to know that Keith has great leg kicks. I don’t think they’re going to be a huge factor in this fight because he knows they’re coming. It’s like me coming up to you and telling you I’m going to punch you in the face with my right hand. If you’re ready for it it’s a lot harder to punch you in the face with my right hand, so I don’t think they’re going to be a huge factor in this fight."

Maybe I’m giving Jackson too much credit, but I get the sneaking suspicion that this is some sort of mind game he’s playing.

Greg Jackson, you tricksy hobbit.

If his chin cant hold up then the game plan is useless..

Not to take anything away from Jardine’s kicks, but Chuck just stood there and took them.

If you're not submitting, you're just rolling around with another guy.

Chuck was coached to do that

And surprisingly lost all power from his punches. Even tagging Jardine on the jaw didn’t do anything.

And we know it wasn’t the jaw that did it. :)

Leg kicks won’t be a factor because Jardine will be asleep.

Jardine is the Joe “Daddy” of the LHW division. Not marketable, pretty, but mostly effective. Joe Silva gives both of these guys a tough schedule.

Same thing that they said about Griffin, and Jackson didn’t check those very well.

I fully expect Rampage to be ready in this one though.

I expect

Jardine to throw a curveball and try to clinch/take down Rampage. – Good luck but it could protest his chin

If he strikes with Page, he’s dead.

i think jardine might go for some gnp myself, like he did against vera. don’t know if it will work either, but like you said if he tries and trades with rampage it will be a short night.

I love that t-shirt.

You heard it here first: Keith’s going to punch with his right hand.

by goo on Mar 6, 2009 8:16 AM EST reply actions

If Jardine is smart...

Jardine will use his reach advatage and keep peppering Rampage with jabs and staying on the outside. Rampage likes to throw thoose wide looping hooks, so if Jardine can keep his punches straight and mix it up with leg kicks, than I think he can win. Although, it seeems that if you were to follow the pattern of Jardines win/loss ratio, you will find that he wins then losses then wins then losses. His last fight he won so now he has a good shot at lossing.

by Bandaka on Mar 6, 2009 10:29 AM EST reply actions

I think the pattern is more based on spoiling someone's chance to move up.

If its Jardine’s change, he losses.

If it his opponent’s, Jardine wins.

What reach advantage does he have over Rampage?

Jackson is definitely taller & if there is any reach advantage at all it will be insignificant. The last thing that Jardine wants to do is get in a boxing match w/Rampage

Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.

Greg didn’t mention Keith throwing body kicks or head kicks, however (OK, mabye that’s splitting hairs, but maybe it’s part of Keith’s strategy)
