Terry Etim vs. Justin Buchholz Back on at UFC 99 in June

Promoted to the front page from the FanPosts by Luke Thomas.

Talented lightweight Terry Etim will return to the Octagon in June at UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany, to take on the Urijah Faber-trained Justin Buchholz, according to a report from Fighters Only Magazine:

Terry Etim (12-2) will be fighting Justin Buchholz  at UFC 99 later this year, Fighters Only was informed earlier today.

He has also signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC and our source tells us that Etim has received "improved terms" and is "very happy with it".

Etim and Buchholz were initially supposed to clash at last month's UFC 95, but Buchholz dropped out of the fight with a staph infection and was replaced by PFC lightweight champion and UFC newcomer Brian Cobb just a week before the event.  Perhaps suffering from both first-time UFC jitters and the stress of taking on a fight with just a week's notice, Cobb was subjected to Etim's brutal leg kicks and active guard, before ending up TKO'd after a head kick and punches on the ground in the second round.

The Liverpool, England-based Etim (12-2, 3-2 UFC) has always been a dynamic and talented kickboxer, but has won the majority of his career fights via submission.  With his impressive and brutal victory over Cobb at UFC 95, Etim will certainly look to continue making a name for himself as one of the UFC's next wave of British prospects along with Dan Hardy and Paul Kelly.

Buchholz (8-2, 1-1 UFC) is a training partner and student of WEC star Urijah Faber, and trains with the California Kid in northern California.  Buchholz was submitted by Matt Wiman in his UFC debut, but returned to secure his own submission win over highly-touted TUF alum, Corey Hill at UFC 86 in July of 2008.  Buchholz has been out of action since then, although he was expected to fight in February before suffering the aforementioned staph infection.

Etim = my favorite Brit to watch. Granted that’s like being the smartest guy in Nebraska, but there it is.

Sweet!

Etim looked good last time out. He reminded me of Anderson Silva actually. And no Im not trying to say he is the next AS or anything, just that he reminded me of him.

Half-Filipino. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been hanging with us on PinoyMMA.
