MMA Nation Rewind: War Machine at UWC 6, Carlos Condit Quite Happy to Be in UFC
For those that missed the show this weekend, here's a recap (and I can't believe I forgot how the four points position worked in PRIDE. Shoot me in the face):
Nate stops by at the top of the show to talk our USA TODAY/SB Nation Consensus MMA rankings.
Callers share their opinion on whether congenital amputee Kyle Maynard should be fighting a MMA match in Alabama.
UWC promoter Marcello Foran stops by to talk "UWC 6: Capital Punishment" and announces War Machine will fight Team Lloyd Irvin's Reshad Woods at a catch weight of 175lbs.
Carlos Condit checks in and talks very optimistically about being in the UFC and what the future holds for him.
I make a plea to SpikeTV to not ruin "The Ultimate Fighter 9" by turning it into MMA's version of Lord of the Flies.
NEW TIME SLOT: "MMA Nation" airs every Saturday 7:00pm EST to 9:00pm EST on 106.7 WJFK. To listen live over the Internet, go to WJFK's website and click "Listen Live".

A Plea
Luke,
You know people that work for UWC, including CEO Marcello Foran.
I need you to talk to them and get them to move the date of this show, as I will be otherwise engaged on Saturday, April 25th.
Please, Luke. I cannot miss the chance to engage WAR MACHINE in a face-to-face conversation. Which, granted, would actually occur at the weigh in the day before. BUT!!! I’d also like to see him lose, especially to a TLI guy.
Let me know the haps.
Your buddy,
Brett

Its the NFL draft day. Not why Brett is missing it, but it is a good reason to move it.

man...
I used to train with Reshad at OSMA, and he’s a BIG guy for 185. On paper they say he’s 6’ 2", but he’s every bit of 6’ 3" – 6’4". And we used to think how crazy it was that he cuts down to 185. But now that he moved over to Lloyd Irvin, they have him cutting down to 170 and only god knows how. I’ve never in my life seen anyone hit harder than Reshad can. This guy has rediculous knockout power. In his loss, the guy that beat him had to go to the hospital because reshad broke his face in multiple places from the one time he hit him. I would love to see Reshad win this fight.

Thanks for checking in. Remember: Reshad’s fight with War Machine will be at 175lbs, so he’s got a little bit of cushion. But you’re right: he’s HUGE for middleweight, to say nothing of 175. If he can make the cut without too much trouble, it’ll be a competitive fight.

In this case, it’s neither of those. More like… Redonkulous!
