When asked by the Japanese press what point of Remy Bonjasky he should look out for, Alistair Overeem answered with a smile that the point to most look out for is his acting. The interviewer also told Overeem that FEG EP Tanigawa has said that if Bonjasky loses K-1 is over.

How the hell did he get ahold of Richard’s banhammer?
"I see him beating Anderson Silva. I see him picking him apart. Him at a 131 years old...(trails off)." - Tito on Belfort at Affliction:DOR
Why… would a bunch of Dutch kickboxers put the anarchist circle-A on their hammer? Am I missing something?
"I'm AJB and I endorse this nut-puncher."
It’s just Overeem’s “A” logo, but it does look particularly anarchic(?) there.

Visa issues again, I believe.

That’s so much pressure. How can Overeem concentrate when he knows the future of the entire organization rides on his shoulders? :p
It’s like he’s putting himself out of a job.

I don’t think K-1 fans really enjoyed seeing Hari get blasted by Overeem. There was some no name MMA guy @ the K-1MAX Japan GP earlier this year who lost. The announcers claimed it regained K-1s honor after the embarrassing losses to MMA fighters.
If Bonjanksy loses, Overeem will have taken out both 2008 K-1 GP finalists.
I really like K-1, it’s always fun. But the more I watch it, the less I believe in that K-1 represents the best strikers in the world.
Yeah, it does seem like the best strikers have gone elsewhere since the glory days of K-1. Not sure where they’ve gone, exactly… Sort of dispersed into the general MMA/kickboxing mix.

That makes no sense. The best heavyweight strikers in MMA are Fedor… and Overeem, a dutch muay thai fighter. I’m not sure what the “general kickboxing mix” is supposed to be, but now we have world class guys like Spong and Petrosyan joining K-1.
There is a very small number of guys in MMA who I think might do ok in K-1 (Lyoto and Anderson come to mind), but its hardly a foregone conclusion. K-1, particularly at the MAX level, has the vast majority of the best strikers in the world.
Do you think Overeem, having beaten Hari badly, can beat Bojasky?

I do. Though, Remy is better at taking damage than Badr.

No. I personally don’t think he has a shot. Bonjasky is a completely different fighter than Hari. Bonjasky has tremendous defense, doesn’t get hit very often or take much damage, has a good chin, and is a very intelligent fighter. Hari has tremendous KO power, but he’s also got very poor defense, generally fights down to the level of his opponent, and is considered to be pretty chinny.
He has a chance simply due to his aggressive style. But Bonjasky has better range and a more varied attack than Hari, so stylistically Overeem doesn’t enjoy the same advantages this time.
My gut feeling is that Overeem will threaten him early, but Bonjasky will take over the fight and win a decision.
Maybe; I don’t watch enough kickboxing to really disagree. It’s just a general impression that the gap between K-1 and the rest of the combat sports world has shrunk. There was a time when K-1 equalled “untouchable striker”, and it just doesn’t seem that way anymore.

I’m sure he’s completely aware that he’s overweight and widely recognized as the worst fighter to ever win the WGP title. And I could probably run faster and longer than him.
He’s the Trent Dilfer of K1.

AH HA HA HA!
I can agree with that.
Was it Dilfer who headbutted the wall and ruined his career?
"I'm AJB and I endorse this nut-puncher."
That was Gus Frerotte.
(And rec’d, to the Dilfer comment.)

I can never keep the two of them straight.
For obvious reasons.

Dude, Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.

That’s like saying that Manny Lee won a World Series. (Bonus points for those that get the reference.) The Ravens won the SuperBowl; Dilfer just happened to be there. He’s widely regarded as one of the worst winning SB quarterbacks ever.
Oh, and…
Passing Yards: Dilfer – 20,518; Ferotte – 21,291
TD to INT Ratio: Dilfer – 113/129; Ferotte – 114/106
Career QB Rating: Dilfer – 70.2; Ferotte – 74.2
ProBowl Selections: Dilfer – 1 (1997); Ferotte – 1 (1996)
Games Played: Dilfer – 130; Ferotte – 147
And you wonder why I have trouble keeping these two legendary QBs apart?

that was a great moment
as a Cowboy fan I lol’d
Does anyone remember...
Heath Schuler?
I am the bastard love child of Junie Browning and Diamond Dave Kaplan.
