TUF Season 7 runner-up CB Dollaway's participation on July's UFC 100 card has been rumored for some time now, but a new report from MMA Junkie reveals his opponent as TUF 8 competitor Tom Lawlor:
A middleweight bout between "The Ultimate Fighter 7" runner-up C.B. Dollaway (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and "TUF8" cast member Tom Lawlor (5-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will take place on the preliminary card of UFC 100.
A source close to one of the fighters today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that bout agreements were recently distributed and signed for the fight.
UFC 100 takes place July 11 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and airs on pay per view.
Dollaway (8-1 2-1 UFC), was a heavy favorite to win the the 7th season of TUF, but back-to-back submission losses to eventual champion Amir Sadollah in the show's semifinals and on the finale (where Dollaway replaced Jesse Taylor) knocked "The Doberman" off track. Since then, Sadollah has been plagued with injuries and has not competed, but Dollaway, now training with Arizona Combat Sports, has reeled off two wins in a row, submitting Jesse Taylor in July and TKOing Mike Massenzio at UFC 92 in December.
Lawlor (5-1, 1 NC, 1-0 UFC) competed on the 8th season of TUF, where he was knocked out by Ryan Bader in the quarterfinals of the show. However, Lawlor was given a second chance at the show's finale and made the most of it, winning a unanimous decision over Kyle Kingsbury to earn a UFC contract. The Massachusetts native now trains at American Top Team with fellow TUF alums Seth Petruzelli and Ben Saunders.
