"March Badness" Fighter Payouts
According to the Florida State Department of Regulatory Affairs and a couple of sources, Roy Jones Jr.'s "March Badness" event's fighter payouts are now available:
MMA Fighters
Bobby Lashley - $40,000
Roy Neslon - $30,000
Jeff Monson - $25,000
Jason Guida - $15,000
Din Thomas - $10,000
Dennis Hallman - $6,000
Gabe Lemley - $5,500
Danny Ruiz - $2,000
James Freeman - $500
John Mowry - $300
Boxing Fighters
Roy Jones Jr. - TBD
Omar Sheik - $50,000
BJ Flores - $12,500
Jose Luis Herrera - $12,500
Robert DaLuz - $1,800
Kelvin Price - $1,500
Kevin Howard - $1,500
Kieyon Bussey - $1,200
Eric Clinton - $800
Richmond Dalphone - $800
Roy Jones Jr. will reportedly take home 2/3 of the event's profit, which is likely isn't an incredible amount of money, but likely a lot more than anyone made on this card.
It's interesting to see that MMA fighters did make a tad more than the boxers on the card, although there were definitely some quality MMA names at the event. Surprisingly, Jason Guida made a cool $15,000 coming in on short notice.
The most surprising figure has to be Lashley at $40,000 in only his second MMA bout. The WWE superstar is obviously getting the royal treatment when it comes to using his star power from pro wrestling to attract fans. If he can manage to increase his MMA skillset, his revenue stream is only going to increase.

Roy Nelson sure is making a solid non-UFC American MMA career as far as pay is concerned. Good for him.

It’s the classic Lesnar-Kimbo factor. Fighters get paid based on their drawing power, not their actual skill.
If Kimbo could sell 600,000 PPV’s, he’d have done so by now.

Please Roy Nelson
Get serious about getting in shape and you would be a Top 10 Heavyweight because you have the skills.
